A local German Shepherd rescue just got a request to take in a 15 week old puppy who was violently attacked at a dog park - resulting in the amputation of his front leg. The owners signed the dog over to the vet (who luckily absorbed the cost). A lot of times in this situation the owner is solely responsible for the vet bill or the dog is euthanized. My poor little man had surgery today and now he's sore and tired and he's making me feel mother's guilt as my mom calls it! Poor guy is stuck in the cone of shame for 10 days so he won't lick his stitches!
