Day 58. More marketing

Sunday September 29th

It happens to be a market sort of weekend.

Kristy, Sara, & I headed to two “pop up,” markets. The first was in Ijburg, near one of my project sites. 

The second, much larger market, was the Pure Market, a bimonthly traveling market that this week found itself at Frankendael Park. The pure market focused on organic goods, foods, & crafts. We ate ourselves silly, feasting on samosas, canolis, english pies, curries, breads, and cakes- small portions, of course.

I often run through Frankendael park in the morning. I have passed the wide aisle now occupied by the market many times. It disguised itself so well as a bench lined grove. It makes me think that whomever the designer was really understood how important it is to have varied spaces within a large scheme. It doesn’t look empty wh
