Thinking about how since Cas heard Dean’s prayer, he also heard the crying and how emotional he got.

15x09 purgatory prayer

When Dean saw Cas and told him he needed to say something, I don’t think it was a repeat of the prayer. I think it was something deeper. Maybe something Cas knew would make the Empty come take him away. So, Cas cuts him off. In my opinion, Dean looked taken back and confused as to why Cas did that. He also looked kinda sad while Cas walked away. I think Dean had been really wanting to tell Cas these thoughts of his but didn’t have the courage to until he was faced with the reality that Cas might be “dead dead”. I think everything he said during the prayer was truth. Purgatory is a very pure place for Dean. So pure even that he had the courage to tell Cas something important and probably romantic right to his face, something not included in his prayer. Since Cas cut him off and walked away after an adorable/desperate hug, I think that might stop Dean from saying it in the future. They are out of purgatory now and faced with a new set of problems, so maybe it will be put on the back burner for an episode or two. I do think they are gonna talk again but let’s hope Cas doesn’t cut him off this time. I want to hear what he was going to say. Hopefully it’s really good but Idrk about that either bc of the Empty and all.
