That time with the drill and the masked person who decided to fuck things up.
The man in the white coat drove though the paths of Kalos, his mask displaying an overlay with a map so he could keep track of where he was going. "Seems this world is rather similar to my own, even if the balance of darkness has more sway over it." He muttered to himself over the roar of his motorcycle.
He had followed someone here, though he wasn't ready to reveal himself to them just yet but the fact that there was such a threat that required their attention so gravely gave him cause for concern.
He then saw in the distance, driving through the plains, the mobile war tent, Shaking the ground as it's wheels turned. Freja's insignia was all over it.
He turned his head slightly, the massive machine catching his eye. "What the hell is that? Someone's got an ego." The shaking slowly made itself known as the bike became harder to handle. However he was able to keep in control as he continued down the road, on an unintentional intercept course with the machine.
as he want down the road he saw the tent rest and Fairy soldiers around it with tablets and other devices scanning for something.
He slowed his speed down as the soldiers walked out in-front of his path. He eventually rolled to a stop as they filed across the road. He shook his head. "Excuse me, do you mind?" He stated rather bluntly.
The soldiers looks at him and walked off the road for him to pass. A few soldiers got off the tent with a giant drill, and the other soldiers helped them set it in the field.
"What the?" Seeing the men get to work on something that big caught his attention. "What the hell is going on?" He said as he got off his bike, flicking the kick stand down.
One of the soldiers stopped and looked at him. "Would you believe politics?" The other soldier set it up so it was 45 degrees to the ground.
“No." He stated bluntly. "I believe that this would involve destroying my beautiful backdrop on my road trip."
"We're performing an experiment. If you want to know more on the subject, or stop it, you can complain at the tent to the officials. But we have a license from the holders of the land to do it."
"This is public property..." He mumbled. "The state owns it, not an individual." He wanted to get to the bottom of this mess, his contact could wait a while longer; besides they were supposed to meet tomorrow anyway. Leaving his bike he headed for the tent.
at the tent's door stood a clefable with a necktie. "Greetings, client, what would be the reason for your visit?"
"To file a complaint about this so called 'experiment' you're conducting outside." He crossed his arms.
"Well, step inside and file this form." The clefable hands him a form. "Then take it to the secretariat and she will direct you to the official you need to talk to."
"Or, perhaps you could just direct me to the one in charge. I happen to be a very busy man." He refused to take the forms from he clefable, resisting the urge to light them on fire.
"We are an organized business. We have twenty other people in there waiting to be heard. You are not any more special then them. Plus the form is for security purposes. We can't allow terrorists or cipher members to enter willy nilly."
With a scowl he snatched the forms from his hands, quickly wrote something down before storming out. Looking down at the message it simply read "Shove it up your ass!"
He walked out and headed for the drill, cracking his knuckles along the way.
The clefable went to him. "Sir, your motorcycle is being towed. This is a no parking zone. Soon they will build here a mall."
He reached down and grabbed the small creature by the forehead and threw him back into the tent! He didn't respond as he continued on his path towards the drill. "If those in authority run rampant with their power, it's the job of the citizens to put them in line." He repeated the words his friend spoke to him.
One of the azumarills shouted "Ben! Why did you hurt him?! he just did his job!" A floette flowed to the masked figure. "You made enough noise. You may speak with the manager now."
"No." He snapped. "In the 5 minutes I've been here you've lied to me, towed my vehicle on illegal grounds, and had the nerve to try and ruin my landscape! The people of Kalos own this ground, no one individual can lay claim to it and those that do are mad!"
"We got the license from the government you twat. We may experiment on this ground because soon they will build a mall here and ruin the landscape anyhow. Your motorcycle was towed because this is A FRIGGIN CONSTRUCTION SITE, and the clefable you just tossed was sent from the kalosian government. He just broke his legs, and this:" The floette pointed at the azumarill. "Is his wife, who watched you hurt her husband. You monster. The mall they built here is to supply the people from the villages nearby with cheap products so they won't have to drive all the way to lumiose. And unless you believe in the phrase "Only the strong survive, dur dur" then you are acting morally wrong." She again pointed at the azumarill who cried as her husband was being evacuated. "Now, since we prefer not to involve the higher management, since they have better things to do then to deal with every self righteous anarchist which thinks he is a 'hero of the people', then please talk to the manager if you have any profound concerns about the project. If not leave before you ruin more lives. Oh, by the way, The clefable had three children."
He could only shake his head, this girl was a zealot clearly. "You picked a damn poor place to build a mall, as the last village I found was nearly 50 miles out. If you have such a problem with me, then bring the manager here. If you believe that i think myself a hero, then you have even worst intelligence than you may believe. I'm no anarchist, I'm no hero, and I'm not going to be moved by your little sob story either. IF anything your presence is increasingly irritating." There was a distinct growl growing in his tone.
"Ugh. you're one of THOSE. I heard people like you and Lysandre running around. Fine." She stepped aside as Freja appeared through teleportation. "What's all that noise about?!"
"This noise as you call it is called being stupid with your development." He brushed passed her and dropped down onto the ground. "Do you really think that I'm stupid enough to believe that your building a shopping mall all the way out in the middle of nowhere?! It's a waste of resources and manpower!"
Freja looked at him. "Do I know you from somewhere?"
"Afraid not." He replied.
Freja waved it off. "Anyway, we have a license from the government to perform the experiment here. This is a remote part of Kalos and they want to develop it to prevent over population in the rest of Kalos. I have waaay better things to do then to talk with a person with other characteristics (Or OC for short), so tell me why you terrorize the poor government officials?"
"Please, with that logo?" He pointed to the massive emblem on the side of the war machine she was on. "I know a military when I see one, and I know a lie when I hear one as well. You stink of corruption and greed, and if you think I'm just going to walk away while this is going on in front of my eyes then your sorely mistaken!" He turned and once again headed for the drill site.
"Gah, why do every one think they can wear a trench coat and just go around acting like a lunatic?" Freja said to herself. Purity Prime appeared before him as he walked. The drill started to work. "Greetings the one know is 'unknown'. I am Purity Prime. What is your name?"
He didn't respond as he tried pushing Purity aside, still heading for the drill.
Purity didn't move. "For a lack of respond, I shall call you, "you". The one known by me as 'you', Please get off the perimeter." The drill got into the ground and quickly disappeared.
"Screw off tin can." He knew something was wrong here! He bolted after the drill, whistling as the bike suddenly vanished from the impound and reappeared beneath him as he took off! The drill was a good distance away from him and he needed a way to close the gap.
Freja teleported in front of him using moonblast. "Now off with you.”
The attack reflected off an invisible barrier like it was a scrap of paper! "Fool." He raised his hand as a powerful surge of energy flowed though his arm and into his palm. The blast of energy was immense, tearing though the ground and carving a gash like scar though the earth as it narrowed and pursued the drill!
Freja shifted her way to not go through the energy wave. She sent a psychic attack on the front wheel of the cycle. ignoring the wave threatening to destroy the drill.
The man leapt from his seat as he sailed though the air! A barrage of smaller energy blasts rained down upon her as he landed and turned. The drill exploded when the wave of energy struck it. "My name is Gerald." He finally gave his name, though he didn't intend for her to live long enough to remember it.
She apathetically looked to the sky and teleported near Gerald. "Looks like you destroyed my drill. Pity. Oh well." She shrugged. the soldiers started to leave and so did the war tent. "Construction on the mall will start in a week. I heard they will have a starbucks." Freja said as she looked at the smoking hole the drill left. "So do tell me, Gerald, what are you doing here?"
"if you must know, I'm tracking someone, someone who's a threat to the whole world if left unchecked for much longer."
"Oh, you do? Please tell me more. I have a weakness to gossip." A soldier brought her a chair and a glass of wine. "Want one too?" She pointed at the wine. "Or do you not drink and drive?"
She can't be serious can she? "You just tried to kill me after I blew up your damned drill, and now you want to sit down and have a cup of wine with me? Just how insane are you?"
"I'm not insane. You annoyed me, but at the end, you failed. The second the drill touched the ground my experiment was complete. The only reason I kept fighting was because you hurt the secretary. I try to be civil with the mad idiots who say they need to stop me. So will you engage in a civil conversation with me?"
Gerald groaned and looked around briefly. "Do I get a chair at least?"
A clefable brought him a chair, and then teleported away to the war tent. Freja gestured at it. "Sit. feel comfortable. If you had time to cause chaos, you have time to relax."
Gerald did just that, taking a seat in the chair and making a brief gesture with his hand; a cup of warm tea materialized into his possession.
"You said you were fighting a great darkness. May I ask you to elaborate?" Freja asked, slightly intrigued, slightly mocking.
"His assumed name is Johnathan Roche, he's the leader of the Puritarian Front, a terrorist group which is currently based here in Kalos. The goal of the group is the 'cleanse the world of darkness' though his heart is the blackest out of all of them. About a month or so ago he test fired a weapon on Mt. Silver and turned the mountain to glass."
"And by darkness they mean yveltals? That must be very uncomfortable for you. Is he a human or a pokemon?"
"He means to destroy all life as it is all dark in his eye." He said grimly.
"And he acquired a heat weapon? Since I suspect that is what could have turned soil into glass. How did you learn of this group?"
"Though a contact of mine in Kalos." He replied, not entirely answering the question as he sipped his tea. "From my own research I've discovered that they also have a serious technological advantage, weapons which shouldn't exist in this world; though their main goal seems to be the construction of something large, though that information still eludes us."
"So to stop them, you travel around Kalos destroying everything that you find un-aesthetic? It seems to me you have better things to do then to hurt poor bureaucrats." She sipped the wine. "It's not smart to burn bridges."
"And you don't find building a 'mall' out in the middle of nowhere a bit suspicious? What about rolling up in a massive war machine and and military personal start filing out and pulling massive drills all over the place?" Clearly he wasn't buying that story one bit. "I was on my way to meet a contact who might have information on this man when you show up, why I stopped was because your men got in the middle of the street and obscured my path. Everything else is purely coincidental."
She shook her head. "You remind me of someone I know. You both have the same sociopathic tendencies." She gave a soldier the empty glass. "You have quite the coloration. It is very unusual for an yveltal, like yourself."
"I assure you I have no idea who your talking about." He took another sip before dismissing the cup, dematerializing it into thin air. "All Yveltal's are born with black feathers, however those who fight against their natural tendencies of mindless destruction will slowly grow more pure. Once they have their urges completely under control will have white feathers like myself."
"So you have no tendancy towards destruction?" She starts to laugh. "Tell that to my poor drill and secratary. You enjoyed it, don't lie to me."
"A Yveltal's natural urge is to destroy wantonly. If I didn't have such control over myself I would have destroyed the tent, your men, and the entire area without hesitation." Once again, Gerald responded with a calm manor.
She smiled a little. "So you're not blood thirsty because you didn't destroy as much as you could? It's good I had those two things insured. Cherubi pie?" A soldier offers him a piece.
"I'll pass." He put up a hand against it. "I wouldn't worry about your secretary, I simply knocked him out. He'll be up in a few hours."
"Still. It was extremly rude of you. Infront of his wife no less. Oh well. Not too much harm done. My experiment was completed, and it caused a chain reaction that would, in return, cause this:" a small earthquake was felt, but it died out quickly. "Well. That's all the time I can spare you. Good luck at stopping the cult." She stands up and a soldier takes her chair.
"The hell was that?" Gerald ask, grasping the edges of his seat.
Freja waved her hand dismissing his fear. "A certain diancie's treasurey just collapsed. Plus we got a sonic scan of the underground tunnels. Don't worry. There was no real damage to the area. We have a very precise method."
He relaxed a little. "Precise but subtle as an anvil to the face." He commented with a small chuckle.
Freja couldn't stop herself from cackling. "Even an anvil has it's charms." She got up and gestured towards the white yveltal. "This has been a pleasant conversation, but I'm afraid I'd have to leave. Also I think you are in a hurry too. If you need help dealing with the cult, then contact me (But only if I could benefit from it)."
"I would say it's been fun but then I'd be a liar." He rose to his feet. "I honestly doubt that you'd be of much help. Jonathan is capable of drawing power from psychic types even though he's a human; meaning that if you do show up it's possible he'll leach off your power." He turned to face Purity Prime. "Though...This one on the other hand..." He put his hand to his chin in thought.
"Hello, the one who used to be known as 'unkown', but now is known as Gerald." Purity said and waved.
"Can't draw energy from a machine...He may prove useful in time, if he can handle himself in a fight against men who will not hold back." He removed his hand, making note of this for later in his head.
"I literally can't die. I was built to be the strongest pokemon." Purity said with his monotone voice.
"And what would I gain from this?" Freja asked.
"How about another tomorrow, isn't your life enough?" From his tone it was clear that he wasn't making a threat, simply stating a fact.
"You won't believe how many times people say that to me. If I leant someone Purity every time the world is in stake, I would live the rest of my life Purity-less."
"Then may your kingdom be the first to burn when Jonathan gets his way because we were under-maned and outgunned." Gerald stated as he started for his motorcycle.
"What an idiot." Freja said as she teleported away.
"Hmph, leave it to royalty to do nothing out of charity." Gerald muttered to himself as he straddled his motorcycle. The wheel was fully repaired, the various enchantments upon it fixed it while he chatted. He kick started the engine and prepared to take his leave, looking over to the massive hole in the ground..."A Diancie huh?"
