once upon a time an AO3 user decided to write a fairy tale parody from fallout 4. it was when the movie beauty and the beast was about to come out (the remake) and they wrote a parody where their sole is belle and gage (the stinky raider man) is the beast. however every good story needs an antagonist, and so who would be the most perfect antagonist to a raider side from the good hearted minutemen who wants to protect the people of the commonwealth from being raided, enslaved and killed? but how can preston, a good and sweet man with a kind heart be the equivalent to gaston, an asshole? oh well simple, you will absolutely write preston as ooc as possible, make him sexually assault your character and be nothing like he is because you are racist and you want to make gage look better by comparison. and like every good story with a happy ending, people that love preston will call you out and to avoid the fire you will delete the fic and continue to post other shit pretending you never wrote it. but we did still get them to delete that racist crap and thus the Greston meme was born.
