*hugs you tight and fierce* don’t you dare. we have breath in us. we have life. we have hearts that crave. and there are good things here, very good things. it’s scary and hard and frustrating and did i mention scary? but life is glorious, it’s what we have, we only have it once, and it is worth living. to spite them if nothing else. i don’t know you, but this is your home, this life, this world, you belong here, no matter how callously the government may treat you, or me. every breath i draw, or you draw, is a middle finger in their face.

why cant they just like, very slowly shut it down because yeah these dogs are still pretty abused, also like puppy mills, my dad rescued a grayhound who spent his life in a cage and was gonna be killed just because his ear flopped the wrong way, its all just wrong and im sick of humans

I’m not going to get into a debate- but understand that knowing a single dog that was mistreated is not a good reason to shut down an entire industry.

I know a dog that was a beloved family pet until his family decided to have him killed because they didn’t feel like dealing with his puppy antics anymore. Thankfully, someone stepped in and saved him. Should no one be allowed to have pets at all because one person was an asshole? That is the logic you are employing.

Some racing dogs are mistreated, as are some pets, some working dogs, some competition dogs. No one is denying that. Change regarding the mistreatment of those dogs should come from inside the community, led by people who actually know how these things work, and people who are capable of organizing a structure to police themselves when needed. Having people who want dogs to completely stop existing period leading this change is not a good sign, especially not now that these same people are currently taking a crack at sled dogs and service dogs. Nothing is safe with these organizations because they will not stop until the entire notion of pets stops completely.

I find that completely unacceptable.
