“Were you always this creepy?” She arched an eye brow leaning back in the visitor's chair thanking all the gods for the bulletproof glass. Though she wished she could shoot him that’d be for the best. “So what have you got? OR did I come here for no reason other than for you to gloat?”

Dystopian Vampire AU || @pushingthewinter

They’d never even seen the auction. The man tasked with delivering them to it was quick to hand over a large sum of money to the dealers and sign away their lives to himself. What followed was hours of grooming, being washed and scrubbed, before being loaded back into a vehicle and driven to their new residency.

Cinead looked them over once they were brought into the living area. He’d said little for their purpose or why he was so hasty to get them back to his home until then as he adjusted the hair of the woman. “Do as you are told and you will see no permanent harm come to you.” He instructed in a voice only befitting of a man who’d smoked for several centuries. “The both of you are to be kept together as companions for my wife. You will do everything in your power and beyond to ensure her happiness, am I understood?”

He eyed the other sibling before leaning in and sniffing him abruptly. Grunting, he nodded and then backed off to go peak out a window. “Now what names will you be giving her to call you by?”

“if you had the choice, would you fight one (1) horse-sized duck or one hundred (100) duck-sized horses?” she’s trying to win a bet with her friend. free food and a week of being driven around is on the line.

“This is me we’re talking about, Tanner. Of course I’d find you.” She lightly brushed her hand on his cheek avoiding any possible injuries. “Been worried about you. Apparently I was right to.” She kissed his forehead and slipped an arm under his, “Lets get you home and we’ll take care of this.”

Jay smiled, resting an arm behind her back. His thumb rubbed her shoulder lightly. Some might call him a playboy but he was still a nice guy. “Do you want to start out slowly?” He could understand some nerves, hell he could be considered nervous himself. It had been some time for himself. His gentle eyes scanning her, wanting to make sure she’d still be up for it. He didn’t want to push her but she had been willing up until this point.

there was something about his touch that really eased her nerves, and the fact that he wasn’t pushy or even bothered by the fact that she was starting to become a little hesitant made her trust him a little more. it was always a risk when she made herself vulnerable to people she didn’t know very well; she tended to judge based on appearance and first impressions, and she was glad it worked out for her this time.

leah leans into him a little as she nods, smiling a bit at his suggestion. “y-yeah. i would really like that.”

Mari had heard very, very little about what Dustin got up to before someone turned his life around.  She couldn’t speak to what he did before she met him, either.  What she did recognize, though, was a former felon when she saw one.  A detective without a gun was a weird situation to her.  

She also knew how to sympathize when she needed to. 

“You and me both,” Mari muttered.  More loudly, she added, “You wanna talk about it?”  She didn’t know why else he would start off with a sentence like that.
