Luck On My Side

sometimes people say i’m lucky.

maybe they’re right.

when i was a kid i got lost in the woods during a family hike. one moment i was right behind them. the next i was standing alone in the trees.

then a bear appeared.

it looked at me, turned, and walked away.

for some reason i followed it.

the bear led me straight back to the trail.

i found my family a few minutes later.

after that i started testing my luck.

fires. racing. stupid dares.

nothing ever went wrong.

so when the motorcycle club told me i had to fight their biggest guy to join…

i figured the odds were still in my favor.

now i’m standing in front of a man three times my size.

and he’s still mad about the joke i made about his mom.
