Plum Chutney from Put ‘em Up. We have three plum trees in our back yard and they’re producing like crazy. Some are about the size of a big cherry, some about twice as big. So pretty small and pretty watery, though they taste good. I went out with buckets and just picked what was ripe that I could easily reach and picked over 10 pounds. I needed to process them quickly so decided to go with chutney. I know lots of people who like chutney so I can share them easily. I doubled the recipe so I used up all 8lbs I had left after giving some away. It took me forever to put them with my cherry pitter. And I should have chosen a bigger pot. I simmered it a lot longer than suggested because of the watery plums. But it’s super tasty. I got about 12 pints.
