Tate  continued  to  stand  there,  looming  over  the  stranger,  his  shadow  casting  over  her  and  blocking  out  the  unrelenting  sun  of  the  California  sky.  He  cocked  his  head  slightly  as  she  hastily  covered  them  back  up;  It  wasn’t  as  if  he  was  worried,  he  didn’t  know  her,  but  he  was  curious.    “If  you  say  so,”    he  shrugged.  The  teen  looked  one  way  down  the  road,  and  then  the  other.  Being  noon  on  a  weekday  kept  the  suburban  streets  fairly  empty.  Most  people  were  at  work,  or  at  school,  except  for  these  two  it  seemed.

“Well,  you  want  a  cigarette,  then?”    He  offered  up  secondary.  His  own  burning  cig  was  tucked  between  his  lips  as  he  fished  the  carton  of  Marlboro  Reds  from  his  pocket  and  shook  them  down  towards  her;  The  lighter  was  already  stashed  inside  the  half  empty  cardboard.    “You  don’t  have  to  tell  me  shit  about  shit,  I’m  not  even  asking,  but  it’ll  make  you  feel  better?”    Tate  gave  it  a  shake;  The  smokes  and  cheap  plastic  lighter  that  he  nicked  from  the  corner  store  rattled  around  inside.    “Promise.”

STARTERS FOR QUIET MUSES (ACCEPTING)

[ sit ] for your muse to quietly sit by mine

     this is uncomfortable. in any other given circunstances, he would have sat alone on a bench, taking out his book and dissasosiating from reality for a couple of hours; however, today seems as if the world had set him up to be social, no matter what. 

     it isn’t something he would usually do, to sit next to some stranger in the park, trying to avoid any contact with them, but what should he do if all of the the benches were occupied except for this one where its only resident was a young woman...girl? honestly he didn’t know, he hadn’t observed her that much, 

     elias sighs, taking out a book he was reading and tries to ignore the world.
