hi, there's an online bookstore with free shipping at the moment and I would love to buy some books. Could you give me some recommendations? I hope you're having a really nice day :)

I’m currently obsessed with the Shades of Magic series by V.E. Schwab. The first two books are already out, they are A Darker Shade of Magic and A Gathering of Shadows. The 3rd book comes out next month. The series has pirates, magic, a badass lady who dresses in men’s clothing, and only the slightest hints of romance. And there’s a canon gay couple, if LGBT representation is important to you.

If you like fairytales and retellings, check out Heartless by Marissa Meyer. It tells the story of how the Queen of Hearts became who she is. It is very good. I read it in less than a day.

If you want something less fantasy and more mystery, the Cormoran Strike series by Robert Galbraith (J.K. Rowling writing under a different name!) is great. There are 3 books in the series thus far: Cuckoo’s Calling, The Silkworm, and Career of Evil.

If you like nonfiction, Wishful Drinking by Carrie Fisher is really good and really funny. I am also a big fan of The Art of Asking by Amanda Palmer, but that one might make you cry.

And if you’re into something a bit more science fiction-ish, Illuminae and Gemina are absolutely mindblowing. The first book had a plot twist that actually made me scream out loud.

If historical fiction is your thing, Salt to the Sea and Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys are fantastic. They are set during World War II and have some connected characters.

안녕하세요! So as far as English names go, there usually isn’t a strict wrong/right answer.

As you may know, there is no /th sound in the Korean language so it’s difficult for most native speakers to pronounce. It you want something that would be easily used in Korea I would use “신시아”

If you want something that sounds closest to your actual name however then I would use

“신띠아” or “신티아”

If we want to get real specific I grew up in Falcon Heights, MN, which is a suburb of St. Paul. I mostly just say I’m from Minneapolis though, because I went to high school in Minneapolis and lived there in college and have stronger ties to that city than I’ve ever had to St. Paul, despite the fact that I grew up, and my parent’s still live, literally within 500 ft of the St. Paul city limits.

4. A song you could dance all night long to - Iron & Wine’s Trapeze Swinger. Probably seems odd to call it dancing but if not for the fact that I can’t dance nearly all night I could dance to this all night long.

8. The last song you listened to - Theresa Andersson’s Japanese Art. The entire Hummingbird, Go! album is amazing. This one just happened to be the last one to come up on my Relaxation playlist as I drove home. It’s not especially relaxing but I haven’t gotten around to trimming out the less relaxing songs (on otherwise relaxing albums) in that playlist. lol

26. A song by your favorite band(s)/ singer(s) - The Mountain Goat’s Autoclave. I know the lyrics to this from heart as long as I hear the opening music. It’s such a haunting song and there are days where I really feel it.

30. A song that sums up your personality - Audra Mae’s The River. I guess? It’s not a stunning fit personality wise but it’s the only thing that came to mind. Reflects a lot of my childhood if nothing else.
