I can’t even imagine being able to choose just one aesthetic?? Like I want to be the mysterious and alluring student in the back of the library all night reading Sappho in a corduroy skirt, I want to be the sweet farm girl collecting strawberries and waking up early to pick flowers, I want to be an art student with paint all over my overalls getting up early to draw the city from my apartment balcony, I want to be a skater and a stoner with chains on my jeans and tattoos running up my arms, I want to be a witch living on the outskirts of town, my home filled with all manner of strange plants, animals and potions. I don’t have enough lifetimes for all the people I want to be and so I end up a messy combo of all of it and none of it at once.
Reopening states amid coronavirus could cause as many as 350,000 people to die by the end of June, according to a new Wharton model.
Trump loves to brag that he attended the prestigious Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania, as evidence of his supposed genius. He may, however, find himself less than pleased with the Wharton analysis of the consequences of “relaxing lockdowns across U.S. cities and states”:
“According to the Penn Wharton Budget Model (PWBM), reopening states will result in an additional 233,000 deaths from the virus — even if states don’t reopen at all and with social distancing rules in place. This means that if the states were to reopen, 350,000 people in total would die from coronavirus by the end of June, the study found. ... That figure far surpasses estimates and models that the White House has cited from the University of Washington, which put the death toll at roughly 73,000 by the start of August. ... partially reopening would also cause the death toll to rise, the university’s data found. An additional 45,000 lives would be lost, according to Wharton’s Budget Model, bringing the U.S.’s death toll from COVID-19 to 222,000.”
Brennan keeps repeating specifically that Comfrey didn’t want the original crew to come on her trip to Zood because “there are people that are more up to the job” and I think that specific wording can imply a lot of things
What if “job” isn’t referencing the whole trip but perhaps the specific mission that she’s carrying out while in Zood! And maybe it’s a job that she knows the crew wouldn’t agree to not because they aren’t skilled enough to carry it out but because it’s immoral? If it were something involving stealing resources from Zood there’s no way that the crew especially Montgomery would ever agree to that, so someone “more up to the job” would be like a criminal or imperialist who’s willing to do unconscionable things, which the original crew aren’t
When Viktor awakens from the Hexcore he asks “What am I?” Because his first thought is of how he’s changed, how his body has been twisted into something inhuman. And Jayce answers “You’re alive!” Because his first thought is relief that he didn’t loose him, that no matter how he might have changed he’s still here
Halfway through the live show and Gilear is here, the crowd rolled a nat 20, & Brennan and Murph KISSED ON THE MOUTH
It makes me crazy when people talk about Vi “abandoning” Powder and treating the whole situation as “they both did bad things and hurt each other but it’s somewhat even” because the abandonment literally never occurred!!! At the absolute most that moment at the factory was two scared children in the midst of the most traumatic night of their lives getting into a fight and one of them getting angry and leaving to cry for a few minutes. Then she gets KIDNAPPED AND IMPRISONED! FOR YEARS!!! Do you really think Vi didn’t do everything in her power to try and get back to Powder, thinking of her every day while she rotted in that Piltover prison cell?
Jinx at least has Silco and Sevika. If anything, Vi was the one who was abandoned
