“You look a little tense big guy, long day?” Tony approached the thunderer with a drink in his hand and smirk on his lips. He held the drink out to him while his hand moved to the Gods waist to pull him in by his pants. “You need some help relaxing?”

Lyra had stared with a blank look on her face for a few moments, raising her brows and her lips parting as if to speak but no words came. Her face fell again and she crossed one leg over the other where she sat.

❝ It... I suppose it does not really matter. It was just a joke. No matter. ❞ The healer cleared her throat. ❝ Anyway, back to the matter at hand. Drinks, right? ❞ Lyra gave a grin, holding up her mug of mead.

“Thor, it’s good to see you buddy.” Tony smiled at the thunderer, hands inside his pockets with a smile on his expression. Unlike the way he felt with a few of the other Avengers, his feelings were genuine when it came to Thor. “How have you been holding up?”

Pepper’s face was as red as a tomato, not like she was really all that embarrassed, this was just so out of the blue and so brazen on top of that. Such an intimate touch that lead to a very direct action, and her body just couldn’t help but respond by complying with even the slightest pull on her leg to open them up. “O-Ohh...don’t you start...” Her heart was literally hammering in her ears, and she could barely hear herself think. Oh, but she wanted him to start.

Was he missing something? Was there a holiday he didn’t know about? Or was somebody pulling a prank. He had to shove the urge down to howl back; opting to bite his lip painfully hard for a few seconds instead. His hearing was piqued to see if anybody else was going to speak up, or if this was Thor’s solo moment.

Rogers was going to go red in the face if he didn’t respond eventually though. The urge was swirling in his stomach and he was already taking deep breaths for it. Nope. Nope. Not gonna cave. He bounced his heel, nodding absently at a question that was never pressed. Lips pressed tight he found himself laughing at the whole thing.

“Gotta admit, that’s a damn good impression.”

Thor was a true warrior. Did the god sense weakness? The brief second where the Winter Soldier’s grief came to theforefront in the grey clouds of his eyes. He didn’t mean the flinch after they assigned his first mission, hated how the Avengers benched him after the fact. Bucky didn’t have enough in him to take pity from any of them.

Forcing himself to stand, he walked towards the taller malewith the intent of a killer. “No. Don’t tell me that. Not from you,” Buckymurmured, taking a step forward into his space. He tilted his head up to force their gazes to meet. “What H.Y.D.R.A did to me and the healing process? I can handle everything. I can prove I’m worth something…”

His breath hitched because he believed noneof those words. The ways Natalia conveyed her gentleness with an easy touch,Sam’s natural speech patterns, or Tony’s tired forgiveness. Hell, Steve’s friendship must carry a limit for a ghost. “It’s what I deserve…” Wasn’t he a relic from a better past? The memories of long red hair that slipped between his fingers and bloodied knuckles that rested in his hands pounded in his skull. 

He can’t even remember that much.
