"don't be stupid, let me help" for juho
‘ I DON’T –– I DON’T … ’ want you to worry about me, juho tries to say but the words die out at his throat. the elder does his best to offer jaewon a smile but lips press into a thin line instead, trying to bite back the sob that threatens to come out as his gaze drops onto the floor. juho isn’t normally like this; juho’s usually optimistic, always smiling and laughing –– seeing the brighter side of things. juho never wanted jaewon to see him like this.
he promised to be strong for jaewon. he can’t fail now.
the rest of his mother’s things left scattered around the room, juho kneels on familiar wooden floors whilst hastily forcing things into the boxes so he wouldn’t have time to stare at them and dwell on her good memories, juho’s just so blinded by sadness and grief that he hadn’t known his hands was shaking in the first place until jaewon had mentioned it.
so juho takes a deep breath and counts to ten, clenching his eyes and forces himself to remember that he’s not alone. jaewon, jaewon, jaewon. it makes his heart race and mind dizzy just thinking about what the other had just said, that he wants to help. ( that’s enough to give juho a little more hope. ) the elder opens his eyes as his gaze lands on jaewon, bated breath as a hand reaches out to quietly lace their fingers together in a tight grip as if reassuring himself that jaewon is really there.
‘ thank you, ’ juho murmurs instead as his tear-filled eyes drop back onto the floor but his hand refuses to let go of the other’s. ‘ thank you for being here for me. ’
