So just some context for our two-session-in playthrough of Phandelver:
We started out needing to haul some supplies to the mines with full plans on how to sell said supplies for more money than doing the mission.
Noodle befriended two wolves and we named them Reggie and Tessa.
Xanax charmed Pyplate for his $50 healing potion.
Xanax also charmed the human held captive by the goblins, Silly Big Boy, to whom she gave said healing potion. We're going to ransom him for a griffon.
Then we encountered the bugbear who was mildly mentally disabled and had delusions of grandeur, so obviously we wanted him to join us. Xanax cast "Charm Person" and he rolled a nat 20 saving throw.
Xanax is now seduced by the bugbear. Pyplate and Silly Big Boy are also now charmed to the bugbear because they were charmed to Xanax. Noodle is going to ditch us and used the wolves to haul the wagon to the next town and sell everything while Xanax and Pyplate become elite assassins for the bugbear (at least until the spell wears off).
Is this how you play D&D?
