Wild Weather: Barry and his team find it on a dive off the coasts of an unhabited Greek island and Barry's the one who gets to really study it but on their way back to land a storm rolls over and lightning strikes their ship, causing everyone to fall overboard but Barry starts to "drown" while being "pulled down by mystical forces", and is granted the abilities. And he wakes up on shore later that evening with the item sitting next to him and he reads up on it and it's a MYTHICAL ITEM and he hides it because everyone thinks that it was "lost at sea again" or something 15:26
Wild Weather: and it turns out that he can change into a merman at will. However, he's able to do it via "urges" that he gets when near water or when touched by water, and if he can't control these "urges" then he'll transform involuntarily. ;a; 15:27
Wild Weather: A year or so later, Wally's working at the labs as a volunteer with Barry and is looking for a file in his desk drawers but finds all these cool diagrams and so he goes through Barry's desk a bit more and WHOA WHAT IS THAT "item of sorts or whateve" and he touches it and it SHOCKS him and he drops it and quickly shoves it back in the drawer before rushing outside from the observatory towards the lab 15:28
Wild Weather: EXCEPT AS HE'S ALMOST THERE, the storm that seemed to appear out of nowhere starts to thunder, and lightning strikes the water, and the electricity runs from the water, through the ground / pipelines in the ground and Wally's struck by ground-lightning from his feet and passes out and Barry rushes him intot he medical bay 15:29
Wild Weather: and then as he's recovering, Wally tells him that he found that weird whateveritis and suddenly Barry's like "OH CRAP HIM /TOO/;;;" 15:30

Wild Weather: Mark is a "sea witch". Or "sea /wizard/", i s'pose. xD He's half octopus, does sorcery and spells, and collects "specimens" to study the life around him. He'd lived in a cave where he'd hoarded away and preserved land-books and other sea-books and texts written by others like him. He lures merfolk or marinelife into his cave and will "study" them or, similar to Ursula, make deals with them and tries to trick them so that he can eventually "steal their life forces to use for his own sorcery". And/or eat them. |D; BUT SO 15:40

Wild Weather: so one day he captures Mick and takes Mick in to study him- and hoples wrote me a silly thing about a little drabblet omg, but so Mark has Mick as his "specimen of study" or "prisoner". AND WE FIGURE THAT THE TR ACTUALLY "MEET" sort of WITH LEO AND JAMES TRYING TO RAID THIS CAVE AND TRY TO "RESCUE" MICK FROM THIS "EVIL SEA DWELLER" except while james is stealing bottles of potions and whatnot from mark's cave he drops one and causes an earthquake thing and the cave starts to collapse and Mark actually halts falling rocks from them all by stretching his tentacles across the cave ceiling and making Leo throw another one of his potions at the wall to create an exit and as they're all getting away, Mick grabs Mark and saves /him/. But the cave collapses. And Mark is left without a home. And James is like "HEY WE DON'T HAVE ANYWHERE EITHER, we can all be loners TOGETHER 8D" and Mick tries to get out of it and do his own thing but Mark /makes/ Mick stick around because he's his "prisoner" and "they'd all BETTER help me find new supplies for potions, my whole /life/ was in that cave." "I think you need to get out more |u" 15:43

Mucus-like because clownfish |v; ).
