The tall, dark and stoic type was really annoying. Always choosing to speak only when it was most condescending, always talking as if even uttering words toward you was a true bother on them. For someone like Chandra, whose mouth moved faster than her own mind, the idea of this tight-lipped, internalized approach was more than irritating.
It didn’t help that Sorin had a condescending demeanor to begin with.
“Alright, fine, let me correct myself. So you choose to speak now, huh?” Chandra grunted in response. “Look,” she started again, begrudgingly. “Last time we met I may have … jumped the gun a little.” It was probably the closest thing to an apology she’d ever mutter willingly.
“After cleaning up the crap that happened on Innistrad I went on to clean up more crap on Kaladesh–my home plane–so I was feeling a little protective when more interplaner visitors were involved. But I mean, you gotta admit, you aren’t the most friendly looking guy around, either.”
He found the impulsiveness of her nature confusing; how could someone not think before they spoke? He pondered. His fingers tapped against the weathered leather sleeves of his coat; an eyebrow raised toward her comment, oh she was correcting herself it seemed; and an apology? He mused to himself.
“I don’t need to speak all the time, though you questioned me so it prompts an answer no?”
Her begrudging nature drew a chuckle from the ancient planeswalker’s lips as he began again.
“So you do admit you were quick to judge? If I hadn’t been so kind; I could have smited you where you stood. After all they do say don’t judge a book by its’ cover.”
He could understand that she had much to deal with after the events of Innistrad; he’d never outwardly express any sort of sympathy but he could only. His grin faded back to a seemingly deadpan expression.
“I understand on being protective over a plane you hail from; younger folk care too much about other things than their own home usually, dare I say you have some sort of sense about you. Underneath your impulsive nature. I don’t look friendly? Would you expect a vampire to look friendly?”
