What if... the monsters are like viruses and the Magical Girls are the Earth's immune system. Metaphorically speaking.

Magical Girls exist because Monsters exist, not the other way around, essentially a reverse Superhero Paradox. The earth is always a little bit sick with monsters and until it can be cured (if it can be cured) it keeps generating Magical Girls. This also ups the stakes on Cassandra because not only is she a mass murderer, which is bad, but she's wrong on such a catastrophic level that if she accomplished her goal she would basically kill the earth.

The thing about Cassandra is that she's smart enough not to get caught but she also lacks any subtlety. She's kind of like Scar from Fullmetal Alchemist in that when she attacks you always know its her but she's also somehow completely untrackable.

Granted, her continued existence is relatively unknown outside the Magical Girl community. Most regular people assume she died alongside the rest of her team and are unaware that she's the one who killed them (sans Apollo, who's a solo act now). And even most people who know who she is don't know she and Pythia/Oracle are the same person.

And none of this makes sense to anyone.

Trying to decide if I make Cassandra a student or independent. Or a former student. I'm leaning towards student or ex-student because there's another OC I have, Richard Aria, whose codename is Apollo so it would be kinda funny if they were exes.
