     Elijah knew this place by heart. One tended to not forget a place of rest, a place of peace in a world were it was null and void. The vampire had pieced together the puzzle of Davina's jumbled visions and he had felt the shift. Hayley had looked surprised and even guilty of something without fail; he had overheard her phone call to the witch and now he was here, watching the woman dig up his lost love to harvest her power. Celeste had not wanted this; not wanted her magic harvested as her power was great and dark. 

     She had not believed in the practices the Quarter witches held on to and she had made him promise in her death that he would keep her body hidden and safe. He had failed her in putting his thoughts to paper and he would deal with Hayley's betrayal another time. 

     "Can I ask you what you are doing desecrating the dead?" he asked the woman loud enough that she could hear as he took several steps forward.
