Humanity has long since established their sentience, but Q can’t quite curb their curiosity about the infamous Captain Kirk and his quaint little Enterprise. They could easily step back through time to meet the captain, but such would require operating under an alias; best to keep themselves from appearing in any Starfleet records before making first contact with Picard.

However, the Q can move between universes as easily as walking through a door to another room. So they looked here and they looked there, until finding a little universe inhabited by a young James T. Kirk just on the cusp of what will eventually be his legacy.

Q is in Kirk’s ready room, dressed in the skirted version of a Starfleet captain’s uniform. They’re quite tall at six foot, with dark hair spilling to their shoulders. Different than the avatar they most often use when dealing with humans, but Jimmy T. has quite the reputation and Q does like to stir a reaction. Might be fun.

Q is perched upon Kirk’s desk with one long leg crossed over the other, a PADD in their hands, reading the captain’s logs as if they belong here when the man of the hour steps into the room.

“Don’t bother contacting your bridge crew, I’ve already suspended time,” they say without looking up. “Oh, no harm to your precious people or vessel of course. I like to speak without interruption.”
