do you like brunch

I had two problems with Gossip Girl - major problems, anyway;

1. The brunches. It really was unbelievable to me that people would go for brunches that often. This has been explained to me after the fact as a first world problem of the highest sort, suffered only by upper class people, and they go through it the same way some other people might go through church, i.e. dressing up nicely and going through a set of confusing rituals while you pretend you’re nursing a hangover. 

Even after that, I still don’t understand why so many of these brunches were entrusted to the care of students of the Constance Billard-St. Jude Schools, since they proved themselves capable only of infighting and squandering their parents’ money. But Gossip Girl is really my only reference point for brunches - I’m not rich, or a WASP - so I have to assume it’s true, that rich old families trust their kids to run brunches to show off how great they are.

2. Someone told me Blair ends up with Chuck Bass so I stopped watching the show immediately. I don’t understand women’s taste in men, but Chuck Bass has very much a ‘I am not very strong but anyway I am going punch you in the face you obnoxious ugly weird looking man and I am 100% confident other men will rally behind my cause so even if you do break my jaw several men are going to beat you into a bloody pulp because we do not want you to propagate into the future of the human race whatsoever’. He has no business ending up with Blair, who, as played by Leighton Meester, with her preening insecurity, elegant figure, and immense wealth, represents my ideal brunch date/fianceé.
