The Queer as Folk Challenge Day 27 — Your thoughts on the ending
While I wasn’t a fan of Lindsay and Mel moving to Canada, other then that I actually really liked how the show ended. I absolutely loved the last scene too. I loved the last line, I loved how it was Michael who said it while we saw Brian dancing, I just absolutely loved all of it.
The Queer as Folk Challenge Day 26 — Tell your QAF story. (First watch, how much it means to you, etc…)
My QAF story is very uneventful. When I first started QAF, I was on a Sharon Gless kick. I still am. I had gone on vacation to New York about a month and a half before I started it and saw my bb Tyne Daly in a play. My grandmother went on to say that she had been in an 80s show that I would like, which happened to be Cagney & Lacey. It was right up my alley because I’m a criminal justice major and I love my cop shows and you really can’t go wrong with an 80s show about two female cops. Anyways, I had initially been on a Tyne Daly kick, so when I watched all the tv shows with Tyne Daly in it, I decided to switch over to watching all of the tv shows Sharon Gless has been in. I watched Burn Notice first, which has still emotionally fucked me up because that ending????? And then I watched Queer as Folk and now here we are. Told you it was uneventful.
The Queer as Folk Challenge Day 25 — An unpopular opinion regarding the show
I’m not even sure what constitutes an unpopular opinion in the QAF community, but I really hated the idea that Mel and Lindsay moved to Canada. It was very unsettling. I’m sure there’s various unpopular opinions about Justin and Brian and how their relationship ended up, but I actually really liked it??? But for some reason I really didn’t like that Lindsay and Mel moved.
The Queer as Folk Challenge Day 24 — Favourite QAF cast member
Sharon Gless - because Sharon Gless is a bad ass. And don’t get me started on that voice.
The Queer as Folk Challenge Day 23 — Your favourite QAF mother
Debbie Novotny - does anyone question the fact that I would choose Debbie Novotny?? Because Debbie Novotny is a bamf of a mother. I don’t even think I have to explain myself.
The Queer as Folk Challenge Day 22 — Your thoughts on Brian and Mikey’s relationship
As much of an asshole Brian can be to Michael, and lets be real, he’s the biggest asshole towards Michael, I can’t help but to love their relationship???? And a huge part of it is because of the amount of headcanons I have of when Michael and Brian are teenagers. I also love that Michael is in love with Brian and Brian, being Brian, knows it and is very asshole-y about it. I don’t know, I just love their bromance and yes, they have a bromance.
The Queer as Folk Challenge Day 20 — Your favourite and least favourite ships (that didn’t happen)
Brian and Emmett - This one was really hard for me. I haven’t put much thought into my favorite/least favorite ships that didn’t happen. It’s not like I have anything against Brian and Emmett being together. Headcanon: when Emmett and Brian first met, they fucked in Babylon. But it’s honestly the only ship I can think of for least favorite ship that didn’t happen.
