Ok so I was thinking about my Qat7k AU idea again, and I know a popular idea for one of the trials is that you see what you desire most and I was thinking of how utterly useless Quirin would be here.

Like he'd see his boy, his only son the, reason he's doing all this his last remaining family to see him again happy, safe and alive. He is not going to be able to look the other way you would have to drag him away kicking and screaming and even then you'd be lucky to even get him to look away

Any way just a thought

Qat7k AU angst where he gets angry with one of the group (Hugo) and they start arguing and he calls Hugo Varian

Ok another idea for qat7k AU

Quirin carries around one of Varians old experiment log/journal as a keep sake.

Yong finds it somehow (fell out of a bag/rummaging through Quirin stuff/ect) and thinks Quirin is secretly like some sort of alchemist/knight, lord demanitis type person and tries out some of the experiments in the log/journal cause he thinks there cool

Meanwhile, Quirin is freaking the fuck out cause where the hell did Varians log/ journal go?! and when he finds out Yong has it he goes ballistic that he took and could have damaged it via the various experiments/ losing it/ ect. The two argue and the truth about who it belongs to and why Quirin has it is revealed... sort of. I think Quirin would still hide a lot of details and the crew would only learn that the log/journal is his sons and that his son needs some sort of help that Quirin believes can only be found in the library

Idk man I think it would be mysterious

Ok another idea for my vat7k AU ( imma call it Quirin and the 7 kingdoms or qat7k)

Quirin at first is still very protective of all of the crew. Varian would have been around the same age as yong and Nuru and he would be just a year younger than Hugo.

I think this would be a good point of conflict for the early journey especially with Hugo who is used to taking care of himself and suddenly this old, retired knight trying to act like his father when he can barely take care of himself

Yong also gets really annoyed cause Quirin is very strict when it comes to him doing experiments of any kind despite not knowing a thing about chemical reactions and experiments in general!

It probably bothers Nuru the least as, as a princess shes used to being surrounded by knights and other that constantly worry about her safety and thinks its just an old habit that he has.

Ok more on my qat7k AU

During the water trial you see memories good and bad ( seen this idea around a lot and I love it ❤️) and the crew gets spilt up Yong and Quirin and Nuru and Hugo ( second pair is less important for this) so Yong a Quirin are walking around and suddenly Yong and Quirin start seeing and hearing past memories of Quirin and Varian and Yong stops and watches, cause the way Quirin treats Varian is eerily simmilar to how he treats Yong overall
