Just doing a little PID testing. The GoPro is hard mounted to the frame with additional counter weights to simulate the weight of a gimbal. FPV | NASCAR Meet NASQUAD
Autumn
It is getting cold at night! Went out to a place that was recommended by a friend. He was flying here a couple of weeks ago in shorts-weather. Tonight it was freezing and it is getting dark fast.
This was just another test run and the QAV400 performs great! This time I had tried 1.47a firmware for the EzUHF, didn't work at all. The sticks jumped like crazy in the OpenPilot GCS. I was lucky to have my computer with me, but! I run OSX on a Macbook, on this WMWare Fusion with a virtual Windows 8.
The ImmersionRC Tool is for Windows only. So I had to hook up my Mac to the Internet through my phone, then download version 1.43 and install it from my virtual Windows 8 installation. After a while I got the old firmware back into both TX and RX.
Another problem tonight was the RangeVideo camera, doing flips it can't keep up adjusting itself going from light to dark resulting in complete darkness when pointing down. I don't think I dare to do a flip close to something with this camera.
New OSD on the QAV400
Yesterday on the cement plant didn't go according to plan. The TBS Core on the QAV400 turned out to be broken. So I only got two packs with the QAV500g instead.
Today I put a new TBS Core on and it behaves really strange. The current amp is 99.99A and the mAh consumption is running like crazy. Checked all cables, settings and soldering twice, still crazy!
So, I took my never used Skylark Trace IV and put it on, with GPS and everything :) Worked great beside that it never got a GPS lock, have to look into that tomorrow.
Flew three packs outside my house and everything after the renovation seems to work just fine. New Afro ESCs, new 1100 Tigers, other antennas for the EzUHF and from today a new OSD :)
