With a fondly exasperated twist to her red lips, Aerie cradles the device in her strong, lean arms as Qi fusses over it the way he vaguely remembers his mother being in his childhood. Perhaps his fussiness is a tad excessive, given that he'd entrusted her with the recovery of this artifact in the first place. But as an Old World adage goes, “It is better to be overly cautious as opposed to apologetic.”

“Here you go.” With deliberate carefulness, Aerie places the last screw and dusts off her hands. “Anything else I can help with or do you need me to go?”
