This is what happens when a power surge comes through the phone line and into your house! This picture is from a few years back from a house in Peachester. The lightening strike hit a tree, and then went into an open Telstra pit... traveled alone the phone line then blew apart a wall, fried a bunch of electronic devices. Very lucky home owners were out at the time this occurred!
