I was going through the episodes of QoftS and I was suprised at who wrote which episode I... kinda want to do a edit of who wrote what which season

Oooo this would be super interesting. I've gone into that deep dive too (not in writing but like in my head/in conversations haha) -- like Ben Lobato wrote 3x02 (my FAVORITE EPISODE EVER) and 3x08 (second-fave season 3 episode!). And also 2x04 (that almost-kiss at the DEA shootout!!!!!) and 2x11 (the convo in the car in the rain!!!!!) -- and also 5x08 which imo is one of the stronger Jeresa episodes of season 5 in terms of them actually talking about things; Ben seems to be really good at using conversation and setting to heighten the tension between them but he never writes actual romantic material for them!

And Tom Garrigus wrote 5x02 and 5x09 so clearly he GETS them at a soul level

And Dailyn Rodriguez wrote 2x03 and 3x09 which are two of my favorites...

So it's interesting because while watching and processing season 5 I feel like the fandom gave the season 5 writers and show runners a lot of shit for not tapping into Jeresa enough but meanwhile the season 5 show runners collectively wrote some of the entire series' best Jeresa eps?

Anyway. What is your take anon??

So I’ve been wondering this, is it cannon that James had a sister? It’s in so many fics that he had a sister who died. But I don’t remember this from the show. Did I miss it or did everyone just agree on it and proceed? I love that but if his character, but the consistency of it got me wondering. Also, love your stuff!

And well -- it's sort of canon. In episode 3x02, James--as Trevor--tells the family Devon's having him target in Texas,

"I had a little sister, but she passed away when we were young."

I think a lot of people have taken that to be a truth about James. After all, it seems he was otherwise telling sort-of-truths in that conversation (most hilariously, in response to "commodity training! what's that like?" he deliberated a bit before answering, way too cheerfully, "it's murder."). So, I personally wouldn't quite say it's canon with complete confidence, but I think it's a reasonable takeaway. I'm assuming that is probably where the little sister who died comes from in all the fics.

I saw your post about saying hi, so I'm coming out of the woodwork. I confess I'm a lurker... I've been following your recaps since season 2 and it completely changed how I watched that season. I always didn't like how it showed Teresa being mean to James and sucking up to Camilla and couldn't believe James used the tracker. But it makes a lot of sense the way you explained. it. Season 3 is the best though!!!!!

i just rewatched episode 12 in season 2 with the train yard fight and you wrote something on one of your gifsets that made my mind explode. you said that there's a cave parallel with how james shoots out the lights so teresa can't see and then she sends in a van with high beems on to blind him in light. i just wanted you to know i will never watch that scene the same way again! it's so spot on!

Hi anon, I'm so sorry I forgot about this sweet ask. You must be talking about my tags on this set here from @la-ermitana. Yeah, I love the imagery of that. This show is so good with all the callbacks and parallels, so I really think that must've been intentional, especially the way the camera lingered on James trying to shield himself from the light and then running away--followed immediately by their confrontation in the train. Such an incredible scene (with a great soundtrack, too). Thank you so much for commenting :)
