How to take your unicycle on a plane: Transportation box
So I got an old delivery box from Alex' Qu-Ax unicycle. When I was carrying to the bus stop empty, I could hardly imagine it being fun to carry with a unicycle inside. So I came up with an idea for a harness to make transportation easier and maybe even safer for the box.
If you want to create one, here's the instruction:
The supplies you probably get at a building centre
4 pieces of belt: 2 in the length of the horizonzal circumference + 5-10 cms, 2 in the length of the vertical circumference + 20 cms
2 pieces of belt of the length of the width of your palm + 5-10 cms
either two old handles from a broken backpack or two pieces of a garden hose of the width of your palm
2 buckles, matching the belts
* Wider belts are recommended, but my local building centre only had those of a width of 2,5 cms (1'').
** Material costs were about 12 € (excluding yarn)
lighter to seal the ends of the belts
How to make a harness for your transport box
1) Lace the buckles to the vertical belts and fix the belt on the female part with the help of a stapler. Then sew the belt properly with needle and yarn.
2) Put the belts around the box and lay out the lower horizontal belt and fix it first with the help of the stapler and then sew it properly.
3) Before you attach the upper horizontal belt, add the first handle (garden hose).
4) Add the second handle on top of the box: Put the handle over the belt first and then attach the short belt by connecting the two belts on top of the box.
Well, the weather in Edinburgh doesn't promise to be as good as I expected, but now that I have organized the box and everything, I'm gonna take the unicycle anyway. This will be my main luggage and I will put some clothing, tools to assemble the uni and other stuff into that box.
