I just finished dmc5 and im v much emotional. 😭 did u like it?
(Super duperlate answer on this one, I’m so sorry.)
I did and Ido! =D
Personally,I think the game was great – not perfect, it had a few flaws and I will get tothat later – but really, really great.
Thegameplay was lots of fun, especially with the addition of a new character andstyle altogether, or the sheer variety the Devil Breaker gives… the littleadjustments, like, that you can choose which weapons Dante carries, instead ofhaving to switch through all of them, or that some level you can play with morethan one character, those were awesome, too! Really gave this feeling ofstaying true to the old games, but also making new things possible!
And thestory – and its characters - was interesting as heck! I mean, it was not subtle– I think a few people saw the plottwist coming before the games even out? Butthat didn’t really matter to me. While it’s not the most subtle story, or anythinggroundbreaking – especially in retrospect, I think it was brave and creative touse a “new” character to give a new perspective on an old one, and they reallydid their best to involve Nero into the old family mess (and did sobeautifully, in my opinion, since the guy put his foot down and was like NOPE that’s enough of that shit – was soproud of him). Coupled with the flashbacks and hints at the twins past, I wasan emotional mess at points.
And I adoredthe new characters! Nico is my favorite from this game – she’s so awesome, youjust have to love her – and Griffon was a delight to have around as a companionfor the journey. I love me a snarky partner in crime.
So, all inall, I’m absolutely in love with the game, - the gameplay, the story, the characters, the graphics, the music, all of it. The only (small) flaws I would have to listup when someone pressed me would be:
* Theladies should have gotten a bit more screentime and action (that didn’tnecessarily involve flashing naked bodies) more like – they could have showedLady and Trish fight Urizen for a bit, or at least one scene with Kyrie, something like those…
* Theending felt a bit rushed? I mean, it was a good ending, all in all. Just… wedidn’t see Nero return to the van. Or return home. Or the twins actuallycutting down the tree – they could have made that one a bit like Nero beatingthe Savior for good in DMC4, not a real bossfight, but still, something, ya know. And what happensafterwards – if Red Grave City is gonna be rebuilt, if Nero is going tocontinue the Devil May Cry job, and, and, and. Simply, a bit more information.
* Personaltiny thing – more hugs or things like that. Just, affection. I know none of the characters is big on that, but I washoping for at least an apology from Dante for calling Nero deadweight andstuff, or a hug. Or Nico jumping for a hug when Nero came back down from thetree. Things like that.
Mmmmh, Ithink that sums it up from my side! XD
