Just want to say that I personally know that rivalry with annoying co worker Karina would actually be crazy.
Likeeee she spends half her day at work chasing you around talking about “Youre still on that report? God, they’ll get that from you when results drop🤓”
You don’t even consider her a work rival like it’s legit one sided schizophrenic behaviour. Every time you see her you legit stand there like “We don’t even work in the same office block, why are you here🤨?”
Whenever she does well on a project and gets a bonus, she puffs her chest up and waits at your desk for you to compliment her and when you finally give in and do, rina is all like “Exactly, try being more like me😤”
Shes also such a weirdo, no friends and can’t clock social cues. She likes spending time with you because you don’t really care if she gets too frank or seems clueless.
Shes such a loser too, like wtf clumsy and all. Drinks water too fast and she makes loud choking noises, then she looks around and gets visibly upset when someone sees her. Like hoe who hired you😭
Karina naturally finds a way to breathe down your neck and bother you all day. “It was your fault I was thirsty because I had to fix your report early in the morning, so you should be grateful”
The only rival in the world to fix all your mistakes even when you don’t even notice her efforts. You even feel a bit down once you receive news from your superior that the company is making a new department so you’ll be moving to work there.
Sooner than later you eventually tell her your getting transferred. At first she puts up a front with some “Hah! They’ve finally noticed how horrible at work you are!”
Her puffed cheeks and glossy eyes betrayed her words and faux confidence. “Yeah, I’ll miss you too.” You nod finishing up your packing your work laptop.
“Really? You’ll miss me?” Karina mutters stuffing her hands awkwardly into her pockets.
You open your arms, offering up a ‘goodbye’ hug. To which Karina rolls her eyes and gives in. You know maybe she wasn’t that bad?
The next few days come by and youre finally in your new department just to find Karina there too.
“Did you come to visit?” You say, almost flattered by how sweet she was to visit you especially in a different building.
“What? No, I’m the department head..” You had to look around the room to check if there were any hidden cameras cus this had to be a joke.
“So you literally knew I would be working here and you decided to act like you had no clue?”
Karina nods her head as if she was a genius. Needless to say, you were beyond annoyed. You didn’t even look at her the entire day.
Rina couldn’t handle the cold shoulder and swallowed her pride. Tearing up as she begged you to forgive her.
“I mean well, it was supposed to be a happy surprise!! Don’t be mad!!” She says, randomly getting upset during her spiel.
She drags you into her office, hugging and kissing you all over as if this was the final path to forgiveness.
You couldn’t even push her off with how strangely strong she was, you merely accepted your fate and moved on…
