Part 21:
A/N: Okay all here it is finally. Irl gets in the way of writing so damn much it annoys me. But there is a bit of smut in this part too. Minors please skip this story as it is not Under 18 friendly. There is talk of a panic attack and two picture links (1) and (2) as well. This one got away from me a little bit and probably should have been more that one part. I hope you enjoy it and as always Happy Reading. ~Queenie
Lexie made it to TM only to be met if an angry looking Venus trying to tell her she wasn’t welcome there for the holiday celebration only to be met with Lexie waving her and telling her to leave her be she’s behind enough already she has a party to set up for just like Gemma had taught her. Then Venus decided to try and stop her physically by grabbing her by the upper arms. Lexie let out a yelp of panic which caught everyone’s attention prompting them to rush to figured out what was going on.
Venus had Lexie by her arm and dragging her back to her SUV repeating that Lexie wasn’t welcome at the clubhouse tonight or while she was there at all. Lexie went into a traumatic flashback and started to panic, fighting against the grip which started to tighten as she let out a scream for help.
Happy and Tig both were running toward their girls concerned and confused both until that were close enough to see everything going on. The men quickly got to work separating the two women which took a solid five minutes to get Venus to let go of Lex. Happy was ready to throttle Vee and Tig wasn’t too happy about what she had done to his niece either.
Lexie had dropped to the pavement the moment they got Venus to release her arm because of the panic response. Lex had curled up into a ball trembling pulling away from Happy’s touch out of fear it wasn’t actually him and it was another unsafe hand reaching to grab her.
This reaction had infuriated Tig, turning to Venus he asked what she had been thinking and then ordered her to go home that she had no right to even attempt to order his niece away from her family. As she stormed off furious that it had been her banished from the club festivities instead of the one who had insulted her Ole Man.
Tig had turned his attention to Lexie his voice much softer and far gentler as he tried to reach Lexie though the panic and try to calm her down and bring her back to the here and now.
“Lexie, you’re okay come on kiddo, its only Happy and me. Sweetheart please, you’ve got us worried here.”
Lexie was starting to hyperventilate and fighting to control her breathing but dared to peek and see that it was in fact her uncle and Happy. She slowly changed her position on the pavement into one that was easier for Happy to scoop her up into his arms and carry her into the clubhouse barking an order to a prospect to unload the thing for the party for her while he and Tig tried to calm her down.
Happy got her inside and sat her down at a table close to the bar and knelt down in front of her checking her over for making sure she was unharmed physically, which for the most part she was save for the deep bruised that was already forming where she had been grabbed by Venus.
As Happy discovered it Tig had finally caught up with them and saw it as well and did his best to contain his anger at what his Ole Lady had done to his niece. He made sure Lexie was alright before stomped off to his dorm room to try calming his fury.
“Uncle Tig…” Lexie’s voice was barely above a whisper and incredibly shaky. The only one that had heard her speak was Happy unfortunately he also saw the tears beginning to well up in her eyes as well.
“Hey, its okay you know how Tig gets around you from time to time. He doesn’t like showing you the business face and I think it’s safe to say he is very pissed at what happened. Lex, why are you bruising so easily? That isn’t normal for you.” His voice was gentle but clearly concerned for his woman.
“I don’t know Hap, could be how hard she had ahold of me or just the angle she had me. Hap, I honestly thought she wouldn’t ever go that far especially after everything.” Lexie frowned and stood on wobblily legs and carefully stared making her way to towards Happy’s dorm after the excitement she needed to hide from everyone for a little bit.
Happy jumped up and followed her not only because he needed to keep her company for his own peace of mind but also to make sure she didn’t fall along her way. Catching up to her was easy with his long strides. Once he caught up to her, he snaked his arm around her waist and walked with her.
He got her to his dorm which needed a good dusting considering he had only stayed in there once in the months Lexie had been home and that was only because club business had kept him out until about three in the morning and he didn’t want to scare her coming home that late. He gently guided her to the bed in the room.
He watched her sit down on the edge and after taking a deep breath he sat next to her and addressed the elephant that was in the room.
“Lex, we need to talk about the panic attack that happened out there…” he was cautious when he spoke hoping to not upset her.
“Happy, Vee grabbing my arm like she did triggered flashbacks and those caused the panic. I’m honestly okay, I just need to calm down and get past the post panic attack wobbles. I should only need a few minutes before I’m ready to get back out there and decorate for tonight.”
What Happy and Lexie were unaware of was Tig standing just out of view of the open doorway listening to her talk about what had just transpired in the parking lot. Feeling the hurt for his niece and the anger toward his Ole Lady because of what her actions did to Lexie. Clearing his throat he stepped into view.
“She caused flashbacks?” His voice was tight as he was obviously trying to conceal any and all emotion, but he couldn’t hide the deep frown etched into his face.
Lexie patted Happy’s knee before she stood up and went over to her uncle. She gently placed a hand on one of his forearms telling him everything was okay; she knew Venus was just trying to protect her Ole Man. She would have done the same for Happy. After asking him if he would let her out so that she could get to work setting up for the party.
Tig had agreed and moved to walk with her putting an arm around her shoulder making her wince which alarmed him and prompted to lift her sleeve. He saw the bruise and went red in the face.
“Venus did that?” his tone was angry, but Lexie knew it wasn’t at her. “Lex before I go read my Ole Lady the riot act can you clarify what the flashbacks were for me, please.”
“They weren’t recent ones Uncle Tig. They were from when Clay went off the deep end and grabbed me that time from when I was about twenty. She had the same look in her eyes as he had in his when he snapped.”
Happy who had been following behind them felt his own surge of anger his voice was laced with danger. “Clay put hands on you? When the hell did this happen and why the hell wasn’t I told?”
“It happened while you were out of town on club business, Happy. Do you remember that span of like four months I wouldn’t set foot near the clubhouse that was the when. You weren’t told because you’d have killed him. Hell Piney and Opie both went after him for it. Gave him a busted lip and a black eye between them. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time as per usual and got shoved into him while he was worked up over something crazy to do with the club and grabbed me, shook me senseless and sorta threw me to the floor. It’s long over and done with Hap and we need to get this place ready for tonight.”
“This conversation isn’t over Little Girl.” Happy pointed a finger at her for effect before stomping off to work on something outside of the clubhouse.
Tig looked at Lexie and hung his head for a moment before looking at her, “Thought he wasn’t being told about that Lexie.”
“I didn’t want him to think it was the other flashbacks Tig. He would have been afraid to touch me again if he thought it were them and we just got back to being us again…” Her voice was small with a distinct note of sadness in it.
“You’re killing me here Kiddo. Also didn’t we discuss not trying to traumatize your uncle young lady.” He made an ‘ew’ face and then a comically stern look. “Come on, let’s get to work. This place isn’t going to decorate itself.”
Lex nodded and they got to work. Tinsel was hung and the tree got decorated. Uncle and niece bonded and healed once more. Lexie had paused and mentioned that there was a gift for Tig that she didn’t want him to open in front of the other guys before digging into one of the boxes of wrapped gifts and handed him a rectangular gift she had carefully labeled for him. Tig took it cautiously asked her if she was sure she wanted him to open it now and after she nodded, he started unwrapping it.
What he unwrapped was a picture frame that had him momentarily confused until he turned it over. There was a picture in it of him and his daughters one he didn’t have in his possession because it was a picture Lexie had taken one of the last summers that the girls had spent in Charming with him if he was being honest, he had forgotten the photo existed. He could feel the tears stinging his eyes and tried to thank Lexie, but his words would come out.
Lexie had handed him the gift she had gotten Venus before hugging him and telling him to go home for a little while, there was a few hours before the party and she had one more thing she wanted to set up as a surprise to the club, mostly the old guard that was left pictures of Christmas parties past with members that had since passed. She knew some of the people in those pics, but she had hoped the nostalgia from the good times will outweigh the transgressions that killed some of them.
Once she was finished with everything, he stepped outside to look for Happy while she went to the car to get her outfit for the night. She had called out for him and by the time she had gotten her dress out of her SUV he was there at her looking perturbed with her. She softly asked him to follow her back to his dorm so that she could change for the party while they talked about her not telling him what had happened.
Happy shut the door to his dorm to give them privacy to talk and for Lexie to change before speaking, “So Lex you kept that a secret from me all these years?” His tone almost sounded hurt that she had kept it from him.
“Only because you’d have killed him and then the club would have taken you from me, and Tig knew what that would have done to me, so he agreed not to tell you. I swear to you that is the only secret I’ve kept from you, Hap.” Lexie reached out and took Happy’s hands in hers as if he could feel her sincerity through touch.
Happy frowned at her, “I understand your reasons, but I’m still upset by this, Alexandra.”
“Happy, the only reason I specified what the flashback was so that you didn’t fear the worst, what happen way back then was an isolated one off that was atoned for many times. Piney and Ope defended me then and Tig thoroughly tore Clay a new one. And the ones that thought it was funny to shove me into a rabid animal were taken care of as well. It didn’t go unanswered. I stayed away because I didn’t trust Clay for a while and never fully trusted him again. Big part of the reason I got so clingy with you when you were home, and well you know the rest of the reason.” Lexie’s ears started to turn pink before the rest of her face blushed to match her ears as she looked to her feet quickly.
Happy grinned at the fact she still blushed after all the time they were together and shook his head and spoke with a light chuckle in his voice, “Yes, I’m very aware of the other reason. Now come on let’s get you changed before this party, what’s a Christmas party without a Mrs. Claus?”
“Yes, Happy Claus.” Lexie spoke in a mock annoyed tone as she turned her back to him to remove the clothes she had on and put on her Mrs. Claus dress pausing as she felt his lips on her shoulder and making their way up her neck and his hands slipping inside the dress (1) he was supposed to be zipping up.
“Hap, as much as I want to go along with your idea, we don’t have time everyone is going to start arriving soon.”
“Then let them wait, I want my woman.” Was all he said before pushing the dress off her completely, unhooked her bra in one motion, and laid her on the bed.
“Alright two conditions, one its only a quickie and two lock the door.”
“Yes ma’am.” He jumped up locked the door and removed his pants before crossing back to Lexie and removing her panties and slipping his hand between her folds to begin working her nub is a slightly rougher pace than normal.
While one hand was getting her ready to take him the other was roughly manhandling a breast until he had heard a familiar needy whimper. He repositioned himself fisted his member a few times lined up with her entrance and pushed himself into her fully.
Lexie let out a gasp that turned into a quieted moan as he starting a bruising pace chasing his release while trying to get her to hers as well. Within minutes that was exactly what was achieved. Lexie slapped one hand over her mouth while the other held onto Happy who buried his face into Lexie’s chest to muffle his sounds.
As the lay there catching their breaths they heard the sounds of people starting to fill up the club house and they both laughed and got up quickly readying. Once both were dressed and ready to leave the room Lex stopped Happy by grabbing his hand. He stopped and looked at her questioningly only for her to smile softly and stand on tip toe to kiss him on the cheek and whisper an ‘I love you’ he kissed her on the forehead and returned the sentiment to her. Hand in hand walking out into the party as it was beginning.
Happy kept his arm around Lex as they watched the clubhouse fill with the people connected to the club as well as members and their respective families. They were greeted and greeted people back, offering the traditional festive greetings. Lexie’s eyes barely left the door and Happy knew why; she was looking for Tig.
The party was well into its second hour and Lexie and Happy both were starting to worry because Tig hadn’t gotten there yet. Lexie has softly tugged Happy down to her and told him she was going to go back to his dorm for a bit of a break, that the noise was starting to get to her. He knew that was just a cover for her to hide her worry about Tig. Happy had a feeling that she was going to go cry so he told her he would walk her back to the dorm. Doing his best to get her mind away from the worry he asked if she needed a round two followed by that sly grin of his.
Lexie shook her head and frowned telling him that she just needed somewhere a little quieter to try to get her head back on the party. She offered him a sad smile and reassured him that she was okay.
Happy reluctantly left her in his dorm, after he closed the door, he pulled out his phone and called Tig. The phone rang a few times and went to voicemail. Happy had no choice but to leave a message.
“Tig, I don’t know where you are, but I know where you aren’t, and you are worrying your niece sick. She is currently hiding in my dorm and I’m telling you I ain’t wearing that stupid coat and hat if my Ole Lady is still hiding in my dorm for the majority of the party. Call me back or get to the clubhouse.”
He hung up the phone and checked back in on Lexie. He found her just sitting on the side of the bed dissociating with a sad look on her face. He was concerned she was lost in things she shouldn’t be, so he approached her and gently put a hand on her arm.
Lexie felt the touch and jumped which Happy was prepared for and placed an arm out ready to catch her in case her startle response knocked her off balance and off the bed. It almost did.
“Hey, easy Lex it’s just me. You looked like you were a little deep into remembering something you shouldn’t be dwelling on Baby.”
Lexie shook her head, “No Hap, wasn’t nothing bad, just thinking about Christmases past. My first Christmas back home, with everyone that’s gone, it’s kinda hard because I really miss the most of them.” She sighed and cleared her throat and changed the subject, “Hap is Uncle Tig here yet?”
He gave her a quick hug and kiss on the top of her head, “I will go check and send him back if he is Lex.” He quickly stood and went to look for Tig. He was determined to find him even if that meant driving to his house and dragging him back to the clubhouse if needed.
Luckily it didn’t come to that as Happy was getting ready to jog out to Lexie’s cage Tig came jogging up to him with Vee following behind him at a normal walking pace.
“Hey man got your message, sorry we were running late, someone was arguing about coming tonight.” He paused at Vee who had caught up to them with the Edge of Seventeen shawl (2) Lexie had crocheted for her for Christmas wrapped around her.
Hap shrugged indifferently, “Understandable after earlier. Look Lexie asked specifically for you she was lost in her head and is having a hard time with her first Christmas home. I could tell she was fighting a battle trying not to cry but it didn’t look like she was winning, man.”
“Shit, alright, Vee you good to do the party thing?” He barely waited enough for Vee to answer, and he made his way into the clubhouse and back to his niece.
As Tig was on his way inside Hap looked a Vee and at the Shawl he watched Lexie work on, “I see Lex’s theory was right, you are a Stevie Nicks girl. Just so you know she holds no ill will with happened earlier, she understands. She wasn’t expecting you to put hands on her though. She figured you wouldn’t go there with her. If you ever do again…”
Venus held a hand up to stop him, “I already got this speech, and I know it’s you I answer to instead of Tig if there’s a next time.” She paused to pull the shawl tighter around her, “She wasn’t kidding when she said she could crochet. Hopefully she’ll be willing to talk to me later so I can thank her and apologize.”
Happy shrugged again, “Might want to give her a little time. Her first Christmas home without Jax, Opie, and Bobby. She’s not dealing well with that. Her asking for Tig, isn’t a good sign. Last time she did that she left town a couple of months later.”
Tig made his way back to Happy’s dorm and knocked before opening it. He saw Lex sitting there trembling trying to hold it together as best she could. He cursed the way grief was to himself and crossed the small room and sat down next to her pulling her to him and rocking her.
“I miss them...” Whas all she could manage to say before the water works started and she became incoherent.
Tig was able to make out one other thing and that was her saying she wished she never left home. He did his best to try to sooth her and let her know she wasn’t alone. He tried to tell her that this is what grief does and the sneak attacks were the worst of it. It took him about a half hour to get her calm down.
“Lex, I understand this time of year is hard for a lot of people because of grief, it’s not just us, Doll Face, I promise. And every single one of those people out there are going to understand completely what happened in here. Now I’m going to go back out there get your go bag I know you still keep fully stock out in the cage and have Hap bring it back to you, I need to talk to Chibs about a couple of things. Okay?”
Lexie nodded and started to wipe away her tears and got up to go wash what makeup she hadn’t cried off from her face as Tig walked out of the room closing the door behind him only to come face to face with both Venus and Happy anxiously waiting to find out how she is.
Tig told them that she was going to be okay that it was just a visit from the grief monster and that he had an idea on how to help Lex but he needed to talk to Chibs first before asking Hap to run out for her makeup bag that was kept in the go bag in the car she was going to need it And then took off to find Chibs.
Happy went to get her makeup and Vee decided to check in with Lex hoping it would go well. She stepped into the room cautiously holding her hands up hoping that would help keep things calm. No sooner she walked in did she hear Lex.
“What come to kick me while I’m down too now, Venus? This afternoon wasn’t enough?” Lexie’s tone was flat and emotionless.
Vee flinched as if the words physically struck her, “I deserved that. Lexie, I’m only in here because I thought it would be better if you weren’t left alone and to hopefully apologize.”
Lexie had turned around to look Venus in the eye before she spoke. “Vee don’t ever apologize for being a good Ole Lady. That is something only most of us raised in club life would do automatically or as fiercely as you did. Apologizing for that makes you look weak even if it is the right thing to do. But you if you ever try to remove me from the lot I was literally born on again, I’m going to show you why half those badass bikers out there are afraid to piss me off, are we clear?”
Vee while looking defeated nodded, “Crystal.”
Lexie nodded back, “Good not that is out of the way, I see you liked my olive branch. Did Tig tell you I just barely got it finished before the stitches were needed?”
Vee half smiled, “Yeah, he did. Mind if I ask a blunt question?” Vee had paused to wait for an answer which she got in the form of a nod, “How are you still alive?”
“Venus, I got no clue and you’ve only known me a few months. Hell, just this afternoon I poked myself in the eye half a dozen time just trying to put eyeliner on.”
Vee laughed but apologized Lex told her it was okay she had to laugh too otherwise she’d cry, and it seemed like fences were being mended the Vee offered to help her redo do her makeup for the night to which Lexie agreed just in time for Happy to come into the dorm.
He raised an eyebrow and looked at Lex, she told him all was good, and that Vee was going to help her so she doesn’t injure herself any further, to that Happy muttered a ‘thank god for that’ to which both of the women too offense and shooed him out so that they could get Lexie party ready again.
It only took a few minutes to get Lexie made up and back out with everyone celebrating and laughing. Just enjoying the festivities as the party carried on Happy appeared wearing a Santa hat and coat carrying a bag of gifts for the kids that were there. The gifts were handed out and the kids were thrilled.
Lexie and Happy called everyone’s attention after the excitement had died down, everyone got quiet and focused on them which made Lexie reach for Happy, he hid her nerves by pulling her to him with an arm around her waist.
“Alright everyone, Just wanted to say that this has been an amazing party tonight one that this beautiful woman beside me managed to survive in one piece,” Happy paused and gave Lexie a playful look before continuing, “but there is something the SAMCRO family should know. I proposed again and Lexie’s said yes!”
The crowd erupted in cheers and congratulations; the club members mad their way to Happy to shake his hand. Tig and Venus bot hugged Lexie and gave her grief for keeping that a big secret but kissed her on the cheek and announced a round of drinks in celebration.
The party carried on for a few more hours after their engagement announcement but before it started dying down the single members of the club had started pairing with the croweaters of their choosing, the members with Ole Ladies started to make their way home.
Happy had approached Lexie and placed an arm around her and whispered in her ear that he was ready to go home. Lexie smiled and agreed with a gentle smile. He said he wasn’t done being Happy Claus just yet and offered her a wink.
Lexie Blushed and smiled at her Ole Man and got her things, loaded up in her cage and went back to their home.
“Well, Ole Man, how are we going to top this for News Years?” Was all Lexie said to him on the way home.
