I can’t really speak to its visual properties but four is a good number for poetry or lyrical prose because F-initial and R-final are strong sources of consonance. It can’t really be slipped into a sentence as a casual modifier like five or two or seven though, you have to mean it. It takes a long time to say properly, so it demands to be centered by the sentence.

as realizations go it was kind of a slow slide from “maybe” to “probably” to “#confirmed.” The latter two faded in and out for a while near the end of high school and beginning of college. Dating a straight boy for four years/all of high school did not help with confidence in label-claiming here! anyway I’m going to arbitrarily pin a moment on that one picture of anne hathaway in twelfth night
