Pale eyelids shot open immediately, revealing icy blue, startled orbs. A deep shudder wracked the guardian to his core, shallow breaths parting his chapped lips. How had he heard that voice? His sister's voice? Why? Had his mind unconsciously ingrained it into his brain? Was his mind trying to torture him? To make him remember the day when she had lost him to the lake? When he had lost his life, his family? Sitting up from his position, on the branch of a tree he had been resting upon, the wintry teen let out a small sigh. He needed to see his memories again.
Immediately, he sprung up from the spot, staff in hand. "Wind!" he shouted, feeling the breeze pick up almost instantly. "Take me to the Tooth Palace!" he commanded, shortly being swept up off of his feet and into the night sky. It hadn't taken him long to reach his destination. He could almost visualise Tooth's reaction when she saw him, which made him smile. He was always happy to visit the fairy. She was always so upbeat and energetic, it was hard not to reciprocate the positivity she so easily exuded.
But this time, he wasn't just visiting Tooth. He was revisiting the past. His sister. Zipping toward the grand, colourful palace, he took a quick look around, wondering where she would be. "Hey, Tooth?" he called out, hoping to find the girl. Otherwise he'd be aimlessly wandering about the place. "Hello?" he sighed, running his fingers through his silvery locks.
