One of Taiwan’s best-known natural wonders, a piece of rock shaped by nature to resemble the head of a woman. The famous Queen’s Head on the northern coast of Taiwan was named for its supposed likeness to England’s Queen Elizabeth I. The rock has been honed by sea water and strong wind. -www.taiwannews.com . . . 📍Yehliu Geopark, 🇹🇼 #ByaheNiKhino #geopark #queenshead #yehliugeopark (at Yehliu Geopark, Keelung, Taiwan) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPO0BRQNEyg/?utm_medium=tumblr
A Royal Visit to the Queen 👸. The Queen's Head rock, a mushroom-shaped rock formation which resembles the profile of England's Queen Elizabeth I from some angles. It is formed by wave attacks, rock weathering and earth movement.
Queen's Head is a landmark mushroom rock formation at Yehliu Geopark. Between 1962 and 1963, the top concretion split to give the stone its current graceful form. Seen from a distance, the rock resembles a bust of Queen Elizabeth with a long slender neck and beautiful facial lines, hence the name. it is said that Yehliu Geopark is in danger of being eroded away, as we can see, the rock has already thinned 😑 #queenshead #yehliugeopark #rockformation #vacay #travel #travelphotography #roanventures #yehliu #taiwan #eastasia (at Yehliu Geopark 野柳地質公園) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bskn8m4ArDR/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=x117xw775h9l
