what the fuck good is therapy when your therapist just cannot comprehend the cultural worldview youre coming from

like, she tries and she listens and she's doing her goddamn best but im never going to feel supported when all her advice comes from a western viewpoint which just doesn't work where my family shit is concerned

she's fucking great but god this session felt so useless and hopeless

where the fuck are the queer desi muslims at though? where are the ones who have made it, who are living their lives, who got out and still love their culture but have managed to create a life for themselves? if you've made it please help me, please help the rest of us because i have no fucking clue how to navigate my life

everything is fear, everything is pain, everything is a roadblock or a lie or an ordeal - how do you find happiness in the midst of all that?
