After today’s class when we tried to think of movies that had queer protagonists AND a happy ending, and I had trouble doing so, it hit me that I knew of a good Broadway musical that fulfilled these requirements. I saw Hedwig and I loved it....I remember being amazed at how the character overcomes the hardships of being a queer transgender and “ultimately, Hedwig rejects the world’s desire to put her in a box.”
