Quentin has always lived in Riverdale, Pop's was his diner, the Bulldogs was his favorite team, and music was his outlet. Everyone knew Quenin and his music, it seemed like that was his best way out, and Ms. Grundy thought so too. But then Ms. Grundy starts focusing on another student, Archie, and he gets less time with the person that seemed to believe in him the most. Then Jason Blossom is killed and Betty is fighting with the new girl over Archie of all people and even Jughead is being transferred to Southside High. But Jughead was the only person that listened to him and so when Quentin went to see him, he met Jughead's new friend Toni. And she started inspiring the song inside him again.
