Seeing him this year actually made me appreciate Jubilee Street and Higgs Boson Blues more bc love they became emotional experiences. I wouldn’t say I’m a fangirl, but Nick is my fav artist, so I might be biased.
Haha, I mean, Jubilee Street grabbed me from the time I heard it, and Higgs Boson was better live than on the album, but I still think it was about the only time I looked at my watch during the night. It always feels overlong without going much of anywhere, I guess, which is odd because Nick Cave is no stranger to the art of the long song.
(The hilarious thing about Jubilee Street is that my mom got really obsessed with it for a while. I played it on my radio show back when the album came out, and she heard it, and before I moved out of the house, I would hear her listening to it on repeat in her bedroom.)
