(tumblr ate my earlier ask i think) I've been questioning my gender recently, and I've been wondering if I'm just some cisfemale trying to feel "special", nonbinary and/or genderfluid in some respect. It's been even more confusing with my anxiety/OCD making me wonder if I'm really just lying to myself. I've been trying to research what it feels like to be a man/woman/nonbinary, for the binary genders it tends to be a lot of sexist and narrow minded BS, and I find nonbinary to be more relatable.
Doubt is common among trans folks– both binary and nonbinary alike. Most likely you would know if you were lying to yourself. You are special but not “i’m trying to fit in and like im a ‘‘‘‘snowflake’’’’ owo”. Just go with your gut. If sometime down the road you discover that you are not trans (or nonbinary), that’s ok! Your experiences are still valid and they are a part of your story.
** However, if you later realize you aren’t trans, you would no longer be included in trans-specific spaces **
But that is not my point. Right now, we are in the present. You are trans/nonbinary and you are totally valid and amazing.
