questioning panthera spelaea as a theriotype. i’ve always had noemata for being some kind of large feline but i went from questioning lynx to lion to tiger over the years and nothing felt right. i know i just recently posted some hyena-fueled salt towards lions but not gonna lie, i do feel some sort of weird familiarity towards them. specifically cubs, adolescents, & lionesses. male lions, on the other hand, just totally throw me off. i thought my aversion/disconnect was just due to my life as a hyena but i really don’t think i ever had a life as an african lion.

for a while i thought i was a maned lioness or just died at a young age because i’d see bulkier looking adolescents with pale, just barely spotted underbellies and tiny manes and be like “yeah.. i feel like that.” and that’s coincidentally what some extinct members of panthera looked like

whenever i see images of tricolored herons (the theriotype i’ve been questioning) being handled by humans i cringe at how small they are… it’s weird, i have literally zero memories that dictate how big i should be, but in my mind i’m like “uh… no way. i was wayyy bigger than that.”

maybe it just has to do with relative size? we don’t think of ourselves as small, we just think of larger beings like megafauna as super big. but whenever i think of things like blue herons or sandhill cranes, the size just… feels right. the brown, cream & iridescent cream feels right to me as well but there are no herons of that coloration that are the same size. i was also a north american bird, i’m thinking east coast? right now i’m totally stuck between tricolored heron and great blue.

Ahh.. Do any of you know easy way to get on memories? Although I do believe I have kins, I rarely get any memories. And when I do get them, they don't much help for me figuring out a Canon or anything. Is this just how it is? An endless loop of "I think I'm Sombra?"
