Last 2 months were very important for Sasha Pivovarova not just because she official arranged in @dior (the big name) campaign again as a model, but also because she plays double role in this, she stood up as an artist. Yes, after late brand practice of discovery new illustrators names, that wouldn't do much difference, but... here comes my confession... I put a "model stamp" on her name, and I was really surprised when I saw her work a decorator on last her and Dior exhibition. These paintings of hers and drawings impressed me even more than her murals for Dior campaign. How rarely I ask you (and possibly it's rhetorical question) how many models could stand up in public arena to become someone else? I can recall some names, but comparing with masses in fashion industry they are so few... And another question that is: What makes you a proper artist? When you can stand straight and fearless in front of the public, be respected for what you present to it? The years of practice? Appropriate education behind it? Good critical reviews? Or just your own belief in your own work? What makes the critics including your own, that seats inside you, to respect and value you as an artist?
