Master training the axe kick, jab/cross, duck and two body uppercuts. Calm relaxed flow before moving the drill harder and faster
Master training log for May 8,2017. Warm ups followed by front kick and axe kick drills. Added in footwork and spent plenty of time putting gas in the tank with tabatas. Stretched 15 min post workout.
The focus of today’s training was to build explosiveness in all areas.
After a good warm up which included the battle ropes, core training, and trx rowing we add dynamic stretching for approximately twenty minutes. The TRX is a great tool to build strength in the posterior chain of motion. This balances all the pushups we do. Using resistance bands (and you need a variety of sizes), we trained the footwork, the back fist and then the backfist and reverse punch combination. This is in anticipation of next week's tournament.
Master D also training the staff form and empty hand form in preparation for the tournament. These were done back to back without much rest to build anaerobic endurance.
