nurseydex headcanons: beach edition

nursey asks dex to bury him in the sand. dex does it and then walks way, and nursey’s like “haha very funny”, but then dex sits down and opens a book

nursey chases seagulls for fun

dex is really good at building sandcastles, which nursey discovers when he challenges dex to a sandcastle building competition 

every time nursey gets out of the water, he does a really funny Model Walk™ over to dex to make him laugh and dex thinks he actually looks like a model

dex likes to hunt for sea glass and pretty sea shells to give to nursey

he gets really excited when he finds a piece of sea glass that matches nursey’s eyes

nursey feels like he’s sinking in the sand a little when dex hands him the sea glass and shells, because he’s so proud of himself for finding them and nursey just wants to kiss him

even though they each have their own towels, which are literally next to each other, nursey ends up mostly on dex’s towel

he likes the smell of sea salt and sunscreen on dex’s skin, and the warmth that radiates from him

they go to the boardwalk carnival and nursey wins dex a giant stuffed animal right away

dex: how are we gonna go on rides if i’m carrying around a huge stuffed animal???

dex loves cotton candy (it makes him nostalgic), so they eat it while they ride the ferris wheel together

dex complains about his hand being sticky and nursey takes it and licks the sugar off his fingers

“nurse. we’re in public.”

“oh, i’m sorry. is this bothering you?” nursey says as he licks dex’s pointer finger

dex yanks his hand away, and his face is super red, which nursey chirps him about. dex claims it’s a sunburn.

“dex let’s go on this ride”

“i dunno nurse we just ate. i don’t want you to get sick”

“if we can handle kegsters, we can do this”

dex rubs nursey’s back while he throws up over the boardwalk

they go back to the beach later, when it’s dark and the moon has risen, and hold hands as they walk along the shore

they’re mostly quiet, just listening to the waves crash against the shore and enjoying each other’s company

a thunderstorm rolls in and they stand underneath the boardwalk to watch the storm together

despite nursey reapplying sunscreen on dex all day, he still ends up a little sunburnt around the shoulders and his face

nursey rubs aloe on his sunburnt areas and kisses him on the nose
