“Have you noticed that Jules Churchill always wears white? Because we’ve noticed that Jules Churchill always wears white.
First, it was the dress she wore to her very first interview with Caesar--who could forget that fragile paper that just barely covered her? In the arena, there was the white sweater, though we all know it didn’t stay white for long.
Now, nearly all the fashion forwardness we’ve seen from our newest (and dare I say favourite?) victor is all in black and white.
What might pass for frumpy on less charming folks is Jules Churchill’s trademark--I mean, have you ever met anyone who can pull of khaki capris quite like she can? This queen of corduroy always looks like she’s just graduated out of the best Capitol prep school money can buy. A close analysis of her style reveals she’s been wearing skirts, more often than not in the months after her victory, though they are often (disappointingly) modest--past the knees, loose and flowing. It certainly evokes that District-princess vibe Jules has going, but for those of us who would like to see some skin, it can get a little frustrating.
The most scandalous clothes we see from Miss Churchill is lace, of which, I’ll be fair, she does wear a lot. But what is up with Miss Churchill’s obsession with white? Does she want to remind all of us that she’s (presumably) a virgin? Or appear as an angel? Or does she just know it goes oh so well with her coloring?
Whatever the case, we are here for it. We’ve got lots of time to figure out Miss Churchill’s wardrobe, considering we’ve got lots of time to spend with Miss Churchill, and we just know she’ll be darling for every bit of it--she’s already reminding us of Capitol favouties like Twelve’s Dior or everyone’s favorite playboy, Finnick Odair.”
