Loki grunted as he fell to his back. The wind nearly knocked out of him as the woman's weight landed on him and he gasped for air. A smile crossed his face. He could feel the sweat dripping down his temples. Another grunt to her movements and his hand grasped around her wrist.

"When you said you wished to spar," he said still catching his breath, "I had not thought you meant actual sparring!"

Headcanon // Loki, Angrboda, and Sigyn

I firmly believe that Loki and Angrboda were designed by the universe to be a perfect match. When the universe was coming together and the matter formed the nine realms, then formed the gods, giants, and man, the matter to form Loki and Angrboda was the same matter. They are absolutely identical just in their male and female forms.

Because of them being made from the matter, they are bound to come together over and over again. I relate their relationship similar to Christine with the Phantom of the opera. Passionate, sexual, and instantly burning. There are no deep root connections with their relationship. The universe designed them for each other thinking what they needed was a perfect match

However there is one simple rule in matchmaking and that is Opposites attract! yes it's important to have similarities, but not absolutely everything

Sigyn and Loki however were not made for each other. They are opposites in most ways. Sigyn is depicted as light, airy, and kind in all matters where Loki is often portrayed as dark, heavy, and often cruel. Sigyn wasn't supposed to end up with Loki. Their relationship is much more what Christine had with Raoul. A gentle, innocent, and slow burn type relationship with deep roots intertwining. They are opposites and they work well together!

As much as everyone loves the sexuality and tension between Loki and Angrboda, the softness of Loki and Sigyn is what everyone wants in a romantic relationship. one that an be broadcasted publicly as well as kept private. Loki and Angrboda have a relationship too steamy to have a public display of. Whereas him and Sigyn have those gentle touches, smiles, and flirting that you could look at across the room and just say "aww".

Those deep root connections make it easy to fall into something hot and passionate, but you won't see them quickly trying to go back to normal life afterwards because they just want to be with each other. Loki and Angrboda are more about what the other can give them.

I've had these thoughts for a while about the gods both in and out of mythology and just wanted to share. Maybe you thought the same way and thought you were alone. Maybe you don't agree at all. This is my headcannon about the relationship.
