Mystic Gaslight - Art Masterpost

This story y’all!  My second story for @supernaturaltropecelebration​

All sorts of wonderful fantasy stuff! Adorable animals, creepy vibes, funny parts, things that make you wonder if you really read that? Did the author forget they mentioned this earlier?

clue:it’s not mistakes, this story can be a wonderful little mind trip!

@lovejuniperjones did an amazing job of unbending reality in such a realistic way. (make sense?)  

So, I took a different art style approach to this, because well (without spoilers), life is muted for Dean before his trip to this island, and the longer he stays the more vibrant life becomes.

So I started out in very muted watercolor, and ended in SO SO SOOOO MUCH PHOTOSHOP!  You’ll be able to tell obviously!

GISH ART

Hello Lovelies!

IT’S BEEN AWHILE!  Sooooo much life going on! 

Anyway, life is good here, specifically within my own home anyway, the world is still a raging dumpster fire, but me and mine are doing very well at the moment. 

So I barely participated in GISH this year.  I only did two items and I figured it’s about time I posted that artwork here.

ITEM #22 - Depict something you struggle with as a fellow camper at Camp GIsh, and you befriending it or defeating it.  SO... this is me befriending my anxiety and depression at Camp Gish, and sharing roasted marshmallows.  If you can’t beat them, accept them and stuff them with sugar!  Pastel pencil on black paper.

ITEM #69 - Tulpa Covid-19 out of existence by creating as many Amaibe’s as possible and flooding the internet with them. In Japanese lore, this creature was a three legged mermaid, it was believed that hanging a picture of Amaibe in your home warded off illness.

So this is my interpretation of that lore. Ink wash.
