“you didn’t have to stay with me...” she spoke, worrying out of habit. it’s rare for her, seeing the twinkling stars scattered high above and lighting up the night sky. some where just there, others had flown by so fast, only to disappear immediately. eri wasn’t able to see anything like this back home so, this was definitely a rather kind experience and a memory that would sit fondly with her if it all went well. eri wouldn’t have felt comfortable if it wasn’t for rantaro who had been sitting next to her, watching along amongst the cherry blossoms from the cotes ward while everyone else’s voices were simply just background noise.
after a few minutes observing in almost silence, she turns around, looking at him questioningly. “d-do you... see the stars like this a lot where you came from, rantaro?” she asks, seemingly with a lot more on her mind about the stars. she heard that some people wish on stars, or that some wishes may even come true if you keep them a secret. was that all true? would rantaro know about it? “this is... my first time. i never seen them like this.”
“lottie person! to think, i never thought i would meet a fellow socialite in a place like this.” extravagant, eccentric, that was the way to be. this was someone he could try and talk to. try and manipulate. having her on his side would give him more followers for sure! “i am ryo asuka, i live in new york city and work at nyu as a professor. your reputation is quite shining among my students.”
