Fast booting and an intro to linux
Ever Shut down your PC , then thought "oh crap!!, I need to send one last email/make one last VOIP call/ copy one last file to a memory card/look up info and directions on google maps or that E-mail"... and then realise you have to wait for a very long time for your computer to do a complete boot.
There is now a solution/time saver and that's Presto. It's a linux distro Brought to you by Xandros, the same folk that put together The OS for the Early EEEPC's
There is an issue, I'm pretty sure, that tux fans in our midst might not be happy with :P , and that's the Licence. As it says on Presto's site you're limited to a 10 minute session each time after a week of limitless usage, unless you pay the $19.95 fee for a license. With me having forked out over £100 sterling for an XP disc in the early part of the decade, doesn't seem too bad, and some PC journos are agreeing with this.(PDF review)
