Quinn + Puck Drabble: Career Day

“Hi guys!” Puck called as he, Quinn, and Shelby walked up to the front of Beth’s classroom. “I’m Beth’s dad, and these are her moms.”

“Beth has two moms and a dad?”

“Yeah, I do!” Beth said angrily, “And they’re way better than your parents! My dad’s in the Air Force, and Mommy runs a Broadway daycare, and Mama is an actress! And Rachel Berry is my sister!”

No one believed her, and Puck and Quinn weren’t surprised when she got into a fight and was sent to the principal’s office.

“Your daughter,” Quinn had laughed.

Quinn + Puck Drabble: Pancakes

“Beth!” Puck yells up the stairs. He scoops the last pancake out of the pan and sets it on the plate, bringing both of them to the table.

“She’ll be down in a second,” Quinn says, kissing him. “Calm down.”

“This is the first year we’ve had her on the first day of school, it’s a big deal, and I just want everything-”

“To be perfect? It shows,” she laughs. Beth bursts into the room, grinning widely. “It’s our little third grader!”

“Pancakes!”

At school, she gives them a hug and promises to call from Shelby’s tonight.

It was perfect.

"Who are you?"  The little girl's voice was eerily like her own, and Quinn had to take a few deep breaths before she could reply.

"I'm a friend of your Mommy's, Beth.  You're going to come and live with us for a while."

"Because Mommy went to heaven to be an angel?"

Quinn bit down hard on her lip, trying not to burst into tears.  "Yes, love - that's exactly why.  And while she's being an angel, she needs someone here on Earth looking after her baby girl."

Beth thought about that for a long time, but finally she nodded.  "Okay.  What's your name?"

"I'm Quinn - and this is Puck."

"That's a silly name."

Quinn crouched down to look her daughter in the eye.  "I've been telling him that for years," she whispered.  "Maybe you can convince him."

Her giggle was the first moment shared by mother and daughter, and Quinn prayed it got them off on the right foot.
