this image struck me as I was thinking about how WatXM Idie seems to have a thing for nerda because the likes Broo and Quentin...But then I thought about how liking Quentin because because one likes nerds is like liking cocaine because one likes pixiesticks.

wait wait a thought I had last night for the like 5 other people who care abt Quentin and Idie but-

I've been wondering why Quentin sent out his psychic message to Idie back when he was decapitated and being used by Sabretooth during Sabretooth Wars. For a while I just assumed it was some unconscious reaction that picked Idie because he still trusted her and/or wanted her comfort even when their relationship ended years before.

and thats cute but maybe a little bit of a stretch that Idie would be his first point of contact after all these years- and then I thought maybe it was something else. Maybe QQ wasnt reaching out to Idie because he wanted to save himself but because he wanted to stop himself.

Sabretooth was using QQ as a tool to attack Logan and so QQ needed someone to find him and potentially kill him (Quentin) in order to thwart Sabretooth plans. And QQ's mind went out to Idie first because he knew for certain that she would be able to go through with it and kill him if that's what needed to be done for the greater good. Because she's done it before.

Idie killed the future Phoenix Quentin all the way back in W&TXM even though she still cared for him, so QQ could trust that she would be willing to put him down if needed and that's why his mind found her's first instead of anyone else that we might assume he was closer to on Krakoa. He can trust Idie in a way he can't trust anyone else because he can trust that she would kill him.

Anyway that's just a theoryyy but I do wonder if the whole Idie killing a future version of Quentin when they were kids or Quentin sending Idie a psychic image of him being canniablized by Sabretooth will ever come up between them now that they're on the same team and seem to be on friendlier terms in the current Adjectivless X-Men run. I feel like they have some things they need to talk out...

feeling silly and missing the darlings so here's some fankids or whatever theyre called for Idie and Quentin,,,

the girls are either twins or the light-haired one is the oldest. Her name is Lorelei and she is both a lie-detector and also everyone believes everything she says and she can't turn it off.

the purple-haired one is Amira and she is a pre-cog (and post-cog i guess?) with her third eye she sees the whole life story of anyone she looks at, their past and their most likely futures. This also cant be turned off and she cant close that eye and the only one who's future she can't read is herself.

I've also experimented with more kids for them but these two have stuck the most. theres one other who would be a younger sister who draws more from Idie's powers and is kinda dragon-like and has fire breath but I haven't really come up with a design I liked for her yet.

I just like the idea of these mutant powers that are inherently kinda unethical, an idea that was brought up in Hellions, and I feel like any children of Idie and Quentin would have those kinda powers idk I think theyre be a little at odds with society naturally.

At first my only idea was Lorelei and she went through a ton of different power ideas but this is what I settled on and them Amira popped up and I liked her too. I imagine the world only gets worse for mutants but theyre all doing their best as a family, probably a part of some underground resistance movement that isn't afraid to get its hands dirty.

I've not really done anything like this before but they're fun!
